It seems like the majority is buying the mustang for commuting or weekend use. I guess the RS is more suited to the track.
I expect RS to be good at everything - commuting(good MPG, small, easier to park), weekend runs(it should handle great, twisty mountain roads would be highly enjoyable) and track(huge brakes and most importantly Recaros)

I considered a Focus ST but ruled it out because I didn't want a FWD car. This certainly changes things. There are a lot more options at that price point though. I think the ecoboost mustang is probably a better deal unless you're dead set on a hot hatch.

I'm selling a Focus ST to buy the Mustang, they are a good car but not without their flaws.

Please Post up a pic of it. I am sure everyone would love to see it.
Give me until the weekend, currently it is very dirty and needs a wash. And I mean VERY dirty. Only problem is that it is not very efficent and isn't rhd!

The RS is definitely going to be an absolute beast of a car. Having driven plenty of MK2 RSs I can only imagine this is going to wipe the floor with them in terms of grip from the torque vectoring AWD system - not that the Quaife in the MK2 was bad by any token.

Looking forward to driving one when they come out.

Short Answer: No

Long Answer: I did the hot hatch thing back in the days of the KF Laser 1.8 Turbo AWD and the early WRX days (i.e. shows my age!). Besides, I'm too much of a lard arse to fit in the Recaros, getting in and out of those day to day is why I didn't get the FPV GT-P and settled on the GT...

Better than expected price $50990 plus on roads. Could steal some mustang sales for sure.

austang can't say I agree mate. Not sure about the other guys on the forum but my decision to buy Mustang was not in anyway based on price. The initial offer-to-purchase that I signed when I paid my deposit back in Dec 2013 was to a maximum of $85,000 which was because at that time there was no view on RRP and I would have paid 85k for this Mustang.

Most guys I talk to who have order Mustang have the same view ... they just want one.

Just my personal view :D

Agreed. Both cars have a different target market.
