Im gonna get this asap, but we need to talk. My ford buddy told me my problem with the trans up shifting on its own in 5th gear is a hardcoded failsafe on the ecu. Not sure if i believe it. But its there. If im paddle shifting and in 4th gear when i upshift over 4500 rpm itll shift to 5th and then automatically to 6th. It suuuucks. It doesnt do it in full auto. I like paddle shifting
I've never had that issue in S with the paddles. Whatever gear I want it stays there until I decelerate past the threshold. I've ran mine well into 5th and it never hinted at giving me 6th. This is pre-tune.

Same here not even a hint of trying to change for me, you might want to check into that

Floor it in 4th and when youre past 100mph shift it. Mine shifts to 5th and then quickly to 6th. You can feel it and see the rpm drop

Can't wait to get off work and test it out. It's raining here in Dallas so I won't be able to get too aggressive with it. :(

I'll post my impressions once it dries up.
Alright. My first impression of the transmission tune. One word. Incredible.
Driving home from work in traffic there was a very noticeable improvement. Shifting Up/Down was so quick and on point that it was seamless. Only the Revs gave any indication to up/down shifts.

On my way to work today. I got up early so traffic was light. I was able to do one run from a dig to 5th gear change. 1st to 2nd there was the shortest flash of red from the dash lights. Instead of the normal banging the rev limiter. Shifts are quick and solid feeling. 2nd to 3rd the car actually pulled after the shift instead of the lazy, half ass feeling from before. The same for 3rd to 4th. Shift points are better placed in the power range and on the up shift the car just pulls. I let out as soon as it shifted to 5th.

Now I didn't try to paddle shift 4th to 5th to see if it still goes right into 6th. I'll do that on my next outing.

IMO the transmission tune is as important as the engine tune.

It still auto shifts into 6th using paddles to shift.

Next time I'll let it shift by itself. Honestly there is no reason it should skip 5th And another point to make, the shift points are so good now there is no reason to paddle shift.

I find this really weird. You guys are in "S" correct?

I just took a spin to see if I could replicate and nada. Shifted from 4-5 at 5k and rode it out- kinda sketchy in the dark.

It never up shifted on its own.

Strange indeed..

Makes me regret more and more that I was a stubborn idiot and got a 6mt!!!!!

You did it right man. At the end of the day most of us are are spending 99% of our driving on the street. I don't mind losing time in the quarter mile, especially if all I have to do is line up and put my foot down, where's the joy in that. It's much more fun rowing through the gears both on the street and on the road track. Isn't that why we go to the track to have fun? Unless your on a serious competitive race team, who gives a shit if a auto computer shifts faster, both cars are fast it's only winning in shift time. If I wanted something I could drive while sipping a coffee I would of bought a Prius. What do you guys do with your free hand in the quarter mile, pass the line while you're reading a book?

With that being said, if I had the auto I'd definitely get the tranny tuned by Adam haha. It sounds bad ass but still MT>AUTO in terms of fun.
