Yes a poorly designed Thailand made Fiesta.

Nothing to do with a Detroit built Mustang.

Daz Rud will sort em out. I agree she just got a bad car but she took delivery and in most cases there are two sides to the story. Ford might be trying to rectify everything and she's just having a FB vent?

I ask her to post some pics to prove but she didn't reply

Would be good to see a detailed list of all the 'problems' to go with that rant.

Might be reasonable, might not.

I have no doubt every car and car brand has its odd lemon as such. I do agree she needs to post some pictures and I'd love to hear the full story....IF she even owns or owned a Mustang.

Either way ford should not be putting up damaged cars for delivery. Dealer should be ashamed they didn't pick up the damage however small a s rectify before delivery or organise to have it fixed at the convenience of the purchaser

Whatever the case, it's a good wake up call for us all to be careful when taking delivery of a new car. I think you need to convince the dealer that you'll walk away if things aren't done to your satisfaction, which will mean having to send the thing back to Ford Australia, which they won't want to do. I am paying them $2,000 for dealer delivery, and I expect them to do their job properly. First rule of negotiation, or so they say in MBA land, is to understand the needs of the other party, second rule is to be prepared to walk away if you have to. But after all this wait ... hmmm.

This poor panel alignment seems relatively common from the photos that I have seen. The frequency that this is coming up is a bit worrying, and I hope is not indicative of deeper problems with the vehicle that aren't so superficial. I guess we will just have to see. The engine's proven, I guess, so that's some comfort.

In defence of Lydia, you don't expect these things with a new car (naive, I know). In defence of the dealership, why is Ford Australia shipping cars with these issues to dealers if they are all coming through a single point? Just wanting to test how stupid we are? Surely better to have a small team trained in how to identify and fix Mustang-related problems, lest you lose more money in the long run through bad PR (the Facebook rant being an example of that - gives a bad message about that whole brand to the punter, not just Mustang).

Need to see pics of the alleged issues though.

There are some cars with horrible panel alignment, for example the Magnetic Convertible which has been fitted with the Roush pack. The panel gap on that car was horrendous but the customer accepted delivery and didn't note it.

Comparatively I was lucky, my back bumper is out by a couple of mm on one side but it is nothing for me to worry about to be honest.

Whatever this particular customers story is, after receiving all the Ford dribble explaining the great expanse of time between build and delivery, I sure hope mine is bloody perfect.

Ford via PM's:
"We're sure you agree, we don't want to take any shortcuts with the processes in place as they are there to ensure that our early Mustangs meet our stringent requirements, particularly as we have not worked with the US in bringing vehicles over in these volumes before"

blah blah blah, if, after all of these checks, some cars are still getting through with notable defects then I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Fingers crossed Ford get our cars right

Good review though.... I do currently have a VF SSV Redline and cant really fault it. IF the mustang is as good as it I will be happy what the VF lacks though and will never have is its not Special....Even HSV's aren't as special as a Mustang.
