So we keep getting these feel good stories being dropped by Ford/media at the overwhelming response that the Mustang has got...... I am just wondering why the press/media is not highlighting or calling out the complete incompetence from Ford around how they are handling their Mustang orders!

Why aren't any heads rolling within Ford around the mismanagment of the launch and the disappointed and discontent within the customer base!

Probably because there aren't any press cars rolling around either, so not even a photo op in it for them, although Motor has had a few shots of the KPM Mustang (converted).

I'd say that most of your average car journo's at the moment probably don't track the intricacies of the movements/delays either, unless they've personally got one on order.

Truth be told though Ford Australia is delivering the Mustang on time (give or take a few weeks), its just that they're not going in to the people in the order we thought they were.

The car launch is on track. End of 2015 was the timeframe we were all given.

Yes you all want more info on the progress, and yes other companies do that. This area Ford has a lot of room for improvement and not without easy ways to implement it like BMW has.

The constantly changing delivery dates is frustrating I can understand that, but it is only the start of November, and they said by December. If the media started claiming the line you think, they would be laughed at. Ford Mustang launch announced end of 2015, then announced RHD building started for end of year deliveries. It is still not the end of the year, therefore Ford hasn't mismanaged anything of signifiance. If there are delays, they will be customs, shipping, etc all things outside of Fords control, to some extant. I feel for those in UK though, they have faced delays!

What about the "all pre-orders before the March 30 cutoff to be delivered between dec-March?

Are all the pre-orders not coming in that timeframe, Melbnut?

I can only go off my own experience which is; I ordered 13 March 15 (if I remember correctly) before the cutoff date, was given a verbal of Dec - Feb, then the call from Ford Aus this week saying a tentative of 16 Feb 16.

Are there many that have delivery times outside of that window (of Dec - Feb) that ordered before the original cut-off?

Considering the MASSIVE lead in time, honestly for them to get it wrong within a couple of weeks is pretty outstanding if you've ever dealt with large scale logistics.

No they are not at all. I ordered 14th feb. Was confirmed Jan delivery and as of last week now it's a tentative Jan build which is maybe May delivery.

So no they are absolutely not delivering all pre orders on time or within a few weeks...

It's not all about the timeline either...the way they have handled communication regarding what or how the car will be specced has been a joke.

There are still so many questions around what we will and will not get in the car. Surely they need to have locked down the spec fully with Ford US...why cant they publish that..or are they still trying to see what they can get for the pricing they have released locally.
