http://www.businessinsider.com.au/l...are-posting-amazing-sales-in-australia-2016-2

This wouldn't have anything to do with the delay of the first delivered Mustangs by chance would it? (only a few delivered just says before new year, with most seeing their owners in January.) An attempt to boost sales figures?

What counts as the sale anyway? when the deposit is put down? or when delivery is accepted (paid in full or finance approved?)

389 sales, in Jan... could be just new deposits taken I guess, after seeing them on the road people would have thrown a few deposits down.

More than that have been delivered by the end of January right?

I know there are a lot more than that in the country, sitting on docks, but not sure how many have actually been delivered to the customer.

EDIT: just found a more informative version of a similar article.

http://www.motoring.com.au/ford-expects-2016-growth-101161/

'while Mustang led sports under $80K with 389 registrations.'

Translation: 'we delayed your mustang so we could be on top in one bracket' :tsk:

That SRT Core sounds really nice.
Hemi is a beast with that exhaust - took mine up Putty Rd NSW and found out just how hard they are to get through those nasty bends - great on the straits but scary on a corner :ninja::ninja:

Just picked up my Australian Muscle Car magazine, issue No 86.

Paul Gover gives his impressions of the Aussie Mustangs, along with photos from the journalists test drives over 2 days.

He was very impressed, worth a read.

D'oh! So I won't be burning off any M3s except _maybe_ the old E36/E46 at the lights, huh?
A little disappointing that its not going to be any faster than my little BMW M Coupe too :(

Gotta get anti-hop and a tune for day 1 methinks. Supercharger a consideration... need to save up a bunch more cash.

And to make this a useful post:

"But don’t be fooled into thinking that the EcoBoost Performance Pack is the best of both worlds, especially when it commands a $4,000 premium over the base EcoBoost. If it were our cash, we’d work overtime until we could afford the GT and its thirst for 91-octane."

ouch!

We do we keep reading this? "Clearly keen to bring the spirit of its' petrol-guzzling, tire-burning predecessor's to European shores, the car has an astonishing 412bhp - while it squeals from 0-62mph in a blistering 4.8 seconds."

What have they done to our cars? Or is the 4.8 in a vehicle with world's faster shifter (and the lightest one - Richard Hammond?), launching at 3,000 rpm, with the hop fixed, on the right day with the right air temperature, nothing in the tank, and with the spare taken out of the boot ... oh, I forgot, it doesn't have one.

Over our drive loop, the 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost trounced the GT even worse than we expected, despite pushing both cars hard on twisty rural two-lanes.. The EcoBoost averaged 29.5 mpg compared to the GT’s 22.3 mpg. The EPA rates the EcoBoost at 21/32/25 mpg city/highway/combined, versus 15/25/19 mpg for the Mustang GT.

ouch!

In the end, it's about what matters to the individual and how demanding their ego is. ;)

Yeah, but:
"For all of its efficiency and power, the failings of Ford’s 2.3-liter inline-four are even more obvious when it’s up against the GT’s tried-and-true V-8. The turbo-four is often hesitant to respond to throttle inputs in traffic, and then feels and sounds strained even under moderate load. It just whines and moans in a way that saps your confidence to push the car harder. "

ouch!
