If there are just under 4000 2022 GT500s out there then we are looking at around <1500 are HE.

Also the brittany blue in real life is a stunning color, photos dont do it justice.

I'm trying to track the 2022 GT500s and so far I have around 1900 window stickers. Of that just over 700 are HE cars. So your right the Mecum number of 225 refers to Shelby Las Vegas not Ford GT500s. Very misleading by Mecum.
Specifically of 1915 cars 37% are Brittany Blue of those 51.8% are Base HE and 48.2% are CFTP HE. So since this sample is almost half the production ( @ 1915) you would think this is a pretty good sample statistically speaking.

Of all production I am showing:
Base 37.3%
Base HE 19.2%
CFTP 25.6%
CFTP HE 17.9%

Remember these figures are based on about half the production, final numbers will vary some I would think but not by much.
Just my 3 cents worth (inflation you know).

If in fact Mecum marketed the CFTP HE as 1 of 225 that's a lawsuit waiting to happen. As far as the HE goes I love the color and the whole idea. Any fantasies on my part as to its collectability
are gone with the theoretical production numbers being thrown around. When I ordered my HE I had this idea in my head FORD was limiting the numbers of Base and CFTP HE cars.

In 1994 Pontiac made 2000 special 25th anniversary Trans Ams. Special interior and wheels and decals. These things are very hard to find now and were back in the day too. Try and find one today, they aren't growing on trees, and if you do find one it's not a 6speed manual (128 made). my point being in 5 years 1500 HE Shelbys is not going to be a lot. What did they make like 15,000 total '65-'70 Shelbys? And there are not alot of those around either.
A few thousand is not a lot of cars vs the tens of thousands of regular mustangs they make.
I got my HE, is it collectable? Well it is to me, just like my 6speed 25th TA.

If that is the case, all GT500s will be collectors down the road, lol. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Who knows what the future will be in terms of ICE.

Either way, the jist of my position is that they will be collectable whether you drive them or not, just take care of them. All my cars are 100% PPF'd. They are maintained and look showroom. I still get out and drive them. Many with the HEPs garage them away and miss what this whole thing I'd about..... the GT500 experience..... to include driving the car as opposed to looking at it in someone's garage all the time.

At my last Daytona event, there was a guy with a heritage CFTP. He was there to drive the car as intended, and he did. The car is a track monster, not a garage queen.

I would sue them and include the atty fee's. If you can't trust them, they need to held accountable, or whoever in their company misrepresented the Shelby. Just because the guy was drunk and uniformed is no reason to misrepresent the sale item. I guess he should have done some due diligence and confirmed their claims. Caveat emptor

Just playing devils advocate here. Could it be how the car was spec? Somehow, although not public knowledge yet, they know how many were produced spec that way? I highly doubt it, but just a thought.

***caveat being I don’t know the HE options when ordering…if there were NONE, then yes it a screwup.

The only ones that can claim one of whatever is the HE R’s. Would of been nice if Ford did the same with these cars.

I'm glad I didn't pay a huge premium for one. I wonder how the values will be after the official numbers are released.
