So I leased an Eco boost and have had it for a little over 2000 miles, and boy am I glad I leased this car.... So I'll be short but start from the beginning.

-About 500 miles, cylinder misfire and engine light, in for service,
-Shortly after, I got close the to the rev limiter, "overboost condition"
-Drove easy and hit 1000 miles, got close to the limiter, "overboost condition"
-All this time, shaker sub rattles like crazy and drives me nuts, "service says normal"
-1500 miles got close to the rev limiter "overboost condition"
-all knowing cooled seats don't work worth a damn
-sub port in front didn't work, went in for service
-2010 miles, multiple cylinder is fire, car sputtering and driving rough.

Yea long story short I would love for ford to buy back this joke of a car and get a GT. my intentioned were to tune and modify because I love turbo cars and I just simply can't because I can't even rely on the car to function properly stock...oh and all this time, I have to let it sit at the dealer for days...

I'm frustrated...

Sorry to hear about your myriad of issues Will! And here I thought that you were just avoiding me lol jk.

If you do decide to go with the GT after all we still have you covered!

Our tune for the GT has a SICK shifting map! It makes the RPM crazy Coyote really come to life.

Yes we do have lemon law but I believe that there has to be an isolated multiple occurrence of an issue up to 3 or 4 times before it is considered, but I'm going to make sure to take it in asap every time something comes up. I was really starting to get nervous about the overboost condition especially because all I was doing was a 1-2 shift right at/ before redline... I never thought at 1500 miles this would still kick in.

If I end up having to keep the Eco, what would you recommend? Would it still be safe to tune, or should I steer clear until I can get into a GT?

Dont tune. Thats just asking for disaster. Id say save the mod money and trade up to a coyote.

Wouldnt it be a bad idea to mod/tune a car you're leasing? Especially, if you plan to turn it in at the end of the lease? I agree with what others have said. Just save your money and trade up to the GT. You (shouldnt) have any of those issues with the 5.0.

Yea I bought a magnaflow exhaust and an araid intake and really loved how the car sounded, but I lost some torque with the exhaust so I certainly wanted to gain it back. Overall for me it doesn't really matter about the lease because I end up selling my car within 2 years anyway. So it ends up to be the same thing, I wasn't going to mod anything on the car that would end up being permemant and I would return the car to stock once I return it. My dealer auctions off lease turn ins, so they just get sold off anyway, but if the car ended up being great, I was going to possibly purchase it, but now I realized I should have just bought a GT in the first place

I did the switch at 1700 mikes, I had no issues with my EB, but really wanted the GT and got it. I had a lease also, but had a dealer buy me out since his wife wanted it as a personal car.

Right on. That's a good way to do it. Has anyone else had a buy back on these cars yet?

I got really lucky on this one; This was not the original dealer I leased the EB from, I posed my car on Craigslist and they contacted me. They gave me a killer deal on the GT as well and I got the 0%, 1000k ford cash too.

I just closed this deal last Thursday. I checked with a bunch of other dealers and on a trade I would have taken a 7k loss, so again I got very lucky.

Good luck to you; I'm sure you will make something work out. I would push the lemon law thing and maybe press your dealer on a buyout to move up to the GT.

You can. We aren't tuning on the razor's edge, so you are pretty safe there.

If you can get into a GT...DO IT! I mean come on its a GT. I would do the swap.

I'll be trading my EB this week or next for a GT. Just can't stand the sound of the exhaust. Every after market exhaust makes the car sound 10X worst than stock. There is nothing wrong with my car. It runs flawlessly. Haven't had a single issue wrong with it. I just miss the sound of the V8. So in the end i should of went with the GT in the first place. Oh well....Good thing now is $1000 Ford cash and 0% interest. My GT will be a premium with a 6 speed. First mod will be a nice sounding cat back exhaust :D
