I just wanted to make this thread to capture all the changes and mods i am going to do on my UK 2019 Mustang Bullitt.

Coming from VAG hot hatches and old turbocharged Japanese nuggets (Pics attached), the Mustang is a massive change. To be honest I never thought I would own one but here we are.

1996 Toyota Starlet Glanza V: (238whp + 850kg)

2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt:

Mustang Bullitt To do / Wishlist:

1. 35lbs Clutch Spring (Done)
2. Gearbox mount Insert (Done)
3. Mishimoto oil cooler
4. IRS Support Kit
5. 25mm front & 20mm rear wheels spacers
6. Lowering springs
7. X-Pipe (Done)
8. Rear windows tinted

That should get the car into a position I am happy with it. I would love to get it boosted eventually but that is a ways of just yet.

Cheers

First things first.... Clutch spring, that inaccuracy has to go.

A 5 minute job at the most. In my personal opinion the new spring gives a much greater feeling of control when it comes to the friction point, overall a good mod. The only con i can think of is the clutch is a bit heavy while is stop start traffic.

Also, Why is my OEM spring blue? All the ones I have seen on the internet are the same colour as the new Steeda spring. Any ideas?

That’s a damn solid plan.
Basically what I did to my gt/cs and it really felt like it came together with the extra exhaust note and stance.
definitely recommend tint if it’s legal in your local,
I daily drive that car for two years. Loved it.

I have the bushings for my shifter and transmission mount. I am curious how the affect things. let us know what you find out after installing. I haven't gotten under mine except for installing the full length jacking rails.

The part is currently on order so I will update this thread when it is here and on the car. My plan is to do everything myself on the driveway. (Booking it in somewhere for someone else to do, just seems too easy)

That another mod down, the Steeda gearbox mount insert has been inserted...

Overall not a bad little job to do more than possible with a jack, stands and a bit of arm strength, if you dont have a buzz gun. Pushing the insert in is probably the hardest part. Just use lots of grease, my biggest recommendation is get an oil filter removal tool (Weird I know, I have added a picture of the tool so you know what i am on about) and use that to squeeze in the insert. This makes the job way easier.

Steeda insert:

Oil filter removal tool:

insert in place (Hard to see. it is the bit on the left):

Final Thoughts:

Pros:
I think as far as "bang for your buck" goes this is a great mod. On first impressions i have notice how crisp the gear changes are while under acceleration and how much more alert the car feels when you get on the throttle. If you are thinking about doing this mod, just get it done.

Cons:
Absolutely nothing, due to the insert being polly and not aluminium you dont get that increase in NVH, that a lot of people complain post installation.

I will update the thread with my long term thoughts when i have put a few more miles on it.

Mine was blue too, perhaps its a RHD pedal box identification thing ?

So in my original plan, I said H-pipe. More specifically the Steeda H-pipe but, an opportunity come up to fit a development X-pipe fabricated and fitter by a local company.

Very happy with the sound. In my opinion this is what a Bullitt should be like from factory.

You need to add the Steeda lower strut or K brace. Massive immediate improvement and feel.

And add a Steeda Stop the Hop kit. Stiffens the back end right up.

Both good recommendations :like:

I’m not sure if you know, but Ford omit the strut brace from euro / U.K. models (we get the other parts of the bracing), that’s also a good addition if going to the extents of adding aftermarket parts :like:
