Looks like they're trying to sell you a simple USB stick with the update on it for $40 - you don't need that - can use your own usb

I think you only get 1 free update, so you know. They're many years behind, so I've never paid for updates. I did update for free to 2019 maps when I bought my Bullitt... but my car should have come with 2019 maps to begin with, so it wasn't really a free update in my book .

It’s free, it’s only 40.00 if you want them to send you the thumb drive with the maps loaded. You can d/l it yourself and put it on your own thumb drive and it’s free.

Interesting. I did the update of my wife's Lincoln today and they didn't offer me the chance to download it to my own thumb drive. There was a notice that said, "if you downloaded already this is the same update". Went ahead and spent the $40 since I couldn't find a download option.

You can go to Cyanlabs.com and down load the 2020 maps for free.

Updated my 17 to Sync 3.4.21020 and the 2020 maps a couple of weeks ago.

The 2020 maps fixed most of the speed limit errors that were in the 2019 maps but did not update all the hiway exit number changes that have been going on over the past year in Massachusetts.

Be thankful you don't own a Corvette. Those map updates are upwards of $200.

Or a BMW. On the one my wife had it was $400 and we had to leave it with the dealer for the day so they could update! There was no way to do it yourself.

Not sure about Ford but Chevy is only a Maps update. Like, just adding roads that have been there for 5 years.
