Truly torn between the two. I learned to drive using my late mothers "turtle back" two door Plymouth in the early 60's. Three on the tree ..........

Cost is not the issue, it is health related. Chronic arthritis in my shifter hand, knee surgery to my clutch leg. I will be 76 this year. The Mach 1 will not be a daily driver. I have the ST for that.

It is more a case of do I risk reaching a point where I am no longer able to shift gears, thusly having to give up the car or, go with the A10 for longevity ?

The car will not be tracked .............. Though my good friend Travis Franklin is going to run it at Ennis, TX just to see what kind of numbers it does in the 1/4 mile.

It'll be a full second faster with the A10 if that matters. Also, Ford is saying that the Mach I will have an A10 that shifts, etc different than the M6. In your case I would do the A10. Having owned a 19 Bullitt (though it was the MT82D4 manual) and a 2018 A10, I can say that the A10 is good, not great on manually shifting, but remember the Mach has an updated and "revised" A10. I almost went with it but I have a supercharged A10 for that purpose.
I vote you do the 10R80!. What a car, eh?

In your circumstances, I would go with the Auto.

Go with the automatic unless you're afraid of being labeled "gay" by the more insecure members here.

Thank y'all ........... My order placed with Zack last week has the A10 option. Being human, I started to overthink things.

Congrats! You made the right choice given your circumstances. You will be able to enjoy the car more. I think its great that we have those options at all. I would never think lesser of someone who goes with the automatic, that is unless that person was bragging to be the better driver because of it.

Great! Hope to do the same once I get my tax info locked. Hoping to write the check and have it delivered to the door!

Hell, I want the A10 and nothing wrong with me medically. I'm fascinated how far the automatics have come and the shift speed. I won't forget how to drive a manual. Definitely some tradeoffs to consider. Bitching in traffic with a manual or boredom of driving an automatic every day.

Let's not forget the paddles for manual shifting, lot of fun can be had with those too.

Nope, don't play that game. It's hard to do after haven driven stick all these years. It is what it is.

A manual on the "MoPac" in rush hour would not be fun. Ditto I-35. Been there, done that. :explode:

This be true. It's simply training my mind to do so when I hit the twisties.

Coming from a real manual purist, I can totally understand why you’d want to get an auto
