TLDR: Does anyone keep a self-maintenance logbook for warranty purposes?

I have been a long-time hater of dealerships. In my 10 years of vehicle ownership and 5 different vehicles, I think I have been to a dealership only once. I either do the work myself or take my cars/motorcycles to an independent shop where I personally know the owner. I also never concern myself with warranties because I'll just fix them myself should I need to.
That being said, we want to keep the warranty valid on my wife's car. The dealership told us that if we want to do our own maintenance, we'd need to keep all receipts to keep the warranty valid.

Has anyone done this? Did you make a logbook with receipt scans, dates, mileage, etc? Did this satisfy dealerships or did they still give you a hard time for future warranty requests?

You can keep maintenance records in the FordPass app, including uploading pictures of receipts. This is what I do with oil changes, etc. Just don't upload personal information as this may all be available to the next owner. But I have never been in the situation where car maintenance was questioned for warranty purposes and think this is sufficient (official app from Ford).

There are other apps like Drivvo that help you keep records for any car. And depends on how big the independent shop is, but surely they keep some paperwork/record as well.

Use a laptop and Excel - or one of the many mobile apps that are spreadsheet format.

Far easier than any pen to paper and you can easily catalog, search, filter or pivot on the data for future reference..
