I would have bought a Benz if they came in manual transmission. No matter the engine.

Although I say that, but I would want to run the engine hard sometimes, and I wouldn't want to buy too many expensive Mercedes parts doing that.

Mercedes engines are usually bullet proof.
It's the electronics that cause problems.

Yeah I've not had very good experiences with dealer. So i've just done all my own work. Worst one was the differential started to make a whine on the challenger, and it sounded like a bent gear and they told me at the time to put loud pipes on so i don't hear it so I told them I have a lawyer with a louder mouth that will probably make it go away even better. They were then more then happy to change the differential lol

I have used Amsoil in the past and been happy...I am putting that in my son's car this weekend. As for my car, I plan on changing the oil at 1k miles, and very 5k after that. My local Ford dealer uses Mobil 1 synthetic as an option...I figure if it's good enough for a Porsche, it's good enough for my S550... So I might try that out.

I'm an Amsoil dealer (I don't push the stuff but if any of you need any let me know) Just use it for all my vehicles. Also I'm an ASE Master technician and a Toyota Expert Technician.

I did my first oil change at 1100 miles, switched to Amsoil XL 5w20. I change the oil every 5K after the first. At the first oil change I also changed the trans fluid to Amsoil synchromesh.

I just changed the rear diff fluid at 9200 miles. It looked awful. I used the Amsoil severe gear and Ford friction modifier. I use to get a thud from the rear end at low speed turns and the clunk when going into first gear. The turning thud is gone and the clunk going into gear is almost none existent.

I wouldn't wait 30K before changing the rear diff fluid. I wish I had changed mine sooner after seeing how bad it looked.

I called Ford and told them what car I have and they said I need it. The Amsoil already has some in it, but states if you get chatter to add a bottle of the modifier. Its not going to hurt anything adding the Friction modifier to the diff even if it doesn't call for it.

Don't forget you will save money on friction modifier during diff fluid changes with the Torsen! No clutches, no F.M. needed...
