From Ford:

Oil: 3K-10K Miles (range is based on Extreme to Severe to Normal conditions)
Air Filter: 30K Miles
Cabin Air Filter: 20K Miles
Engine Coolant: 100K Miles
Spark Plugs: 100K Miles
Auto Fluid & Filter/Manual Fluid: 150K Miles
Drive Belt: 150K Miles
E85 Exclusive Use: Run 1 tank of unleaded pump gas every oil change

With that being said... I personally think even for a DD driven gently that is hogwash and especially crazy for cars driven anywhere close to hard. Maintence is CHEAP insurance and IMO after seeing things like the gunk in my differential I am glad I take matters into my own hands.

For my vehicle, which seems the upper RPM range often, I prefer:

Oil: 5K miles full synthetic
Transmission: changed @ 1K miles, will change again @ 30K/60K/90K/etc miles, maybe even slightly sooner
Differential: Changed @ 5K miles, will change again @ 30K to do an oil analysis and go from there
Coolant: Every 3 years
Plugs: Have not decided yet

Oil, 10k or 12 months whichever comes first also pay attention to the oil life meter. If you track the car a lot, even more frequently.
Air filter every 30k or 3 years.
Cabin filter depending on your driving condition once a year or every two years.
Diff every 30k or shorter if track.
Manual transmission every 30k auto every 60k.
Drive belts every 60k.
Spark plugs 100k.

You're just throwing money away on the trans fluid and belts if you're changing that often.

Auto change at 60k is hardly throwing money away.
And belts are cheap insurance to be replaced at 60k.
If you want to talk about throwing money away? Changing oil every 3000 miles.

Agreed completely and I don't. I have sent my last two changes in for used oil analysis (with 8,500 and 9,500 miles on each sample) and verified the interval I need for how I drive. Data is better than anecdotes.

I have good knowledge of the durability tests these powertrains were put through. Ford gives change intervals that work. It certainly doesn't hurt to change then, though. I might do the change to BG fluid for feel improvements, but not because I worry about the change interval.
