The one I have been thinking about is the borla touring cat back. It's lighter than stock and also keeps the resonator which helps eliminate drone. I agree in getting a used set, don't feel like spending 1200+ on a new one. Currently it sits at the bottom of my mods list.
Tourings don't drone. Kill that suitcase!

The Gibson exhaust was super cheap, and sounds great. A bit loud (my neighbors aren't so happy) but I like it.
I love my Gibson exhaust. It has a little bit of drone, but call me crazy but I kinda like it sometimes.

You're definitely not in the minority about loving the higher RPM howl. It just sounds that much sexier coming from the tailpipes.
I will say that many of these exhaust systems sound great when listening from outside the car. Maybe I've been soured too much because of flowmasters. I think I will give it another try :)

Thats good to hear! I know borla catback comes with its own little suitcase and I want it to be a bolt on type of upgrade so no axlebacks for me

It's nothing compared to the monster that you currently have. And it's really a smaller muffler that ends up weighing...like 10lbs, maybe?

Research, research and research. I spent weeks looking at exhaust vids and posts before finally deciding on my Borla's. I hope you finally find what you're looking for!

Corsa or Borla are my two favorites for the Coyote.

I had Flowmaster American Thunder with a Bassani X-Pipe on a '96 GT (4.6L SOHC) that sounded GREAT!
Really? I had an '02 with an O/R Bassani X-Pipe and Flowmaster A.T. and it had the " bunch of pennies rattling around in a coffee can" sound. It was terrible. I replaced the Flowies with Magnaflows and it was the best sounding Mustang in town. Everybody loved it.

I also have the MBRP stainless street and I love the sound. And for the money you cant beat it. I installed mine with about 400 miles on the car and now have 2700 on it with no issues.

Yep I agree. It is a great bang for the buck. I want quad's which is the only reason I may switch down the road.

The Borla Touring catback is probably the quietest one you can buy for the car. If you want a little more, that definitely lets the car howl, the Ford Racing Touring catback is it. A little more yet, the Ford Racing Sport and Corsa Sport. Just louder than those is the S-type catback.

Magnaflow (street) and MBRP (street) are good choices too, just different tone. ARK and Solo too.

My bassani X-pipe had catalytic converters....

That was probably the difference! I was so disappointed with the sound, but the Magnaflows made it all better. My bad for not researching enough, but there wasn't as much info around 2005 as there is now on sites as great as this one. :D

Obviously not a Coyote motor but I had Flow 2 chambers (pretty sure they were the original 40 series) on my 98 Cobra back in the day with an OR H Pipe and it sounded FANTASTIC.
I have the 40's on my 5.0 and they sound fine.

Sorry you had this experience. Flowmaster's are garbage. Best of luck on your third attempt hope you get a better brand.
