I use the shift point indicator feature to help avoid the redline. I set it at 6800 and by the time the hard blinking gauge cluster registers in my mind and I initiate a shift I’m right at 7200 with extra 300 for margin of error.
Yeah I adjusted mine to 6500. But I am paying more attention to the road so I am training my ears now. LOL

I hit my rev limiter on my manual Mach 1 today getting on 95. Forget how fast this thing revs out.

Was in third when I hit, it laid down a bit and bounced 2-3 times really fast before I was able to shift. Sure it’s fine but caught me off guard.
At Trackattact, corner exercise, hit the paddle on the A10 by accident twisting the wheel. Locked into a low gear. Banged the limiter on the 1st straight. What a noise, thought I blew it up. Gal on my radio said (well OK, just let her rip). The other 5 guys in my group said it sounded so COOL. Sounded even better in the car!

hitting the limiter is not an issue unless you over rev mechanically, meaning for example running hard in 4th and shift to 3 rd instead of 5th... that will damage the motor if the rev is high enough and the limiter won t help in that situation .

Everything I’ve read says this motor is bulletproof. Just caught me off guard. Freaked me out a bit as I was more focused on the road than tach trying to merge in with these idiots down here. I barely drive the car, just hit 1,900 miles.
Except the oil pump and crank sprocket gears being made of glass

yep if it wasn't such a big job I would have beefier pump installed on mine.

Im getting ready to do this in prep. for a blower. I did it on my 2017 and it really wasn't too bad, but these 18+ cars require dropping the oil pan, as well as removing the HPFP to get the passenger valve cover off, so we will see how it goes. - All on jack stands of course.
