Just thought I’d put a little input because i haven’t seen to many people talking about what fluid they throw in the Tremec. Today I did a trans fluid change on my 22 Mach 1 only has 32k on it but thought that since I recently put on a Barton short shifter I might aswell put some quality oil in her. Filled her up with the Amsoil SS fuel efficiency ATF and a bottle of BG MGC additive. Honestly the difference was actually instantly noticeable. Shifting felt super smooth, downshifts were crisp. Felt like synchros were in love. Obviously not as much as a need as the mt82 owners but just having that quality oil in a quality trans just makes it feel better.

I concur. I used the Amsoil Signature ATF in my Mach 1 Tremec. The shifting smoothness improvement was noticeable. I did not use additional additive.

Which Amsoil Signature ATF? I can find two of them: Fuel Efficient and Multi-vehicle.
Both however are quoted as MERCON V replacement, while the user manual for Mach 1 asks for MERCON LV. My naive observation would be that Amsoil is thicker than the OEM spec. Is it what makes it better?

I am using the Signature “Fuel Efficient”

Snip from spec sheet in image. You are correct. Tremec 6spd is LV.

I'm running Amsoil DCT and it feels great.

Official spec is ATF WSS-M2C938-A
