Had all three cars over the past 3 years.
2019 GT350R
2021 GT 500
2022 mach 1
all great cars but back in a manual with that glorious sound at 7500 rpm. Don’t really miss the other two. My investments look better also. Had a few C8’s also. Kind of boring with the stock Z51 exhaust and DCT. It’s lost its visceral feel IMO. The GT 500 on the other hand was pure porn sound but missing the manual. At idle it sounded like a big block C2. Amazing for a 5.2 engine.

Your a lucky man. Do you keep them just a short time or hang on to several at once?

Wow, you really had them all! I'm a "Mustang guy" but about 2 years ago, was thinking about buying a C7 or C8. I liked the C7, but no back seats. The C8 is an incredible car and value but doesn't have much soul. The GT500 was never on my list because I already had an S550 with a blower. Sure, there is a lot more to it than that but also it doesn't come with a manual. GT350 is something else and the most special in its segment I think. In 2020, I almost bought a low mile 2019 GT350 but talked myself out of it: Would've needed ramps to clear my driveway, engine reliability concerns, too much of a race car for the street etc. I went Bullitt because I really like the looks, especially the unique color, and it's overall a great car. Looked into Mach 1 but Bullitt is about 90% of that and so the upcharge is not worth it in my opinion.

Put about 1,200 miles or so on my Bullitt in 2 years so I really don't (get to) drive too much. Moved and new driveway would not be an issue for GT350. So its back on my radar.

Not particularly searching for an R but also keeping value retention in the back of my mind.

Did the R always have the beefed up engine that the 2019/2020 "regular" GT350 got?

I guess a "PP" chassis is a "Pre Production" or "Pilot Production" but it is a non-serialized car used to test the build process at the plant.

This one here is a "PP" car and comes with the following: "Certified. 2018 Ford Mustang Balance of Factory Warranty". I wonder what exactly that means. Also, at 22k miles, they must have done A LOT of testing with this one. Maybe a press car, too?

These are the cars I’ve owned since 8/2019. The pandemic made it possible to buy at MSRP and trade between brands and come out ahead. They are in order of purchased. Unfortunately the values no longer make these trades possible anymore. But hey it was fun and profitable while it lasted. Don’t want to be caught holding the bag on depreciating assets. Only had room for two at a time. I did this back in the 80’s when 60’s and 70’s cars were appreciating in value. Even a 2005 Ford GT Bought during the 2009 crash.

Woah. You sure had some fun. Awesome!

So the GT350R is your favorite out of all?

Also, surprised that you didn't get hosed owning the F-Types. How do those compare to the Mustang? I always thought they looked cool and sounded nice

Man that is awesome list. Seems like you gave the Corvette a try a few times but it did not impress you in the end. LOL . For some reason just by looks alone I really have no desire to own a Corvette.

Feeling the same.
I had a C8 on order in 2019 but pulled the plug on it.
Found myself building another one recently online. After checking out my creation, I looked over to my other monitor with a front shot of a M1 HP.
First thought was...the M1 looks better.

The F type R has a 5.0 V8. It’s kind of like a 2 seat mustang size wise. The R models before 2020 had a back fire that at times would get a bit ridiculous over time. Was either full on or off. Nothing in between. That brand has the longest warranty and free maintenance at 5 years 60.000 miles. I did find a 2020 F Type SVR at a BMW dealership. Now remember these were during the pandemic times. Dealerships we’re willing to work with you by text. So many of my deals never panned out. But occasionally I would snag a good deal. That’s what I thought would happen on the jag. 2020 model with a $130K msrp and only 900 miles. I had a 2020 GT500 I got for $3K over sticker on a C8 trade. That dealership basically traded me even Steven for the jag. $88K so I figured I could get maybe $95K later. Had fun with the 575 hp engine AWD and that thing would hook up . The exhaust was a bit quieter for 2020. Traded that for a used C8. Didn’t get exactly $95K but was close. At that time I put a $1K deposit on a C8 at msrp. 8 months later the C8 came in. ok long story short. My trade was a 2020 C8 pretty close to the 2022 C8. Hendrick Chevy gave me $12K back and we traded cars. See the paperwork.
The dealership knew I wasn’t a flipper because the 2020 C8 was purchased used. Nobody I knew would think you could trade a used 2020 C8 with almost the same msrp and get $12K back on a 2022 C8. But those were the times we lived in back in March 2022. Since then GM has built over 100,000+ C8’s and they are going down in value.

Thank you for sharing, those were crazy times. Good for you, you came out on top and got to have fun with a bunch of awesome cars. I would not have had the guts to pull that off in fear of holding the bag. So the GT350R remains your favorite? I guess it is the least expensive car?

The GT 350R I would say is my favorite at this time. I have not put enough miles on the mach 1 to evacuate if yet . But it seems to check all the boxes so far. I have a deposit for a Z06 at Ciocca Chevy in NJ. But since the production is so slow and values on C8’s have tanked its probably a no go at this time. The jury is still out if GM actually built a reliable FPC engine at their first attempt. Time will tell.

Yea, I remember looking at a Mustang at a Chevy dealer and they had just got their first C8. It was marked sold and was going to be exported to Israel with a $30k markup they said. Crazy crazy. I think you could still come out on top with a Z06. They probably won't make nearly as many as regular C8s. As to your GT 350R, are you worried about reliability?

I traded in the 350R in late 2020.

Oh, I know. Fortunately the young lady was careful getting out on the passenger side.

I don’t take any chances when I park at the train station in the morning. Last spot in the row, nobody wants to park that far away from the platform, especially in the winter 😂

Hi - Do you think it might be more susceptible to theft or break-ins being further away like that. Like many others, I do the same thing in shopping malls and often wonder if I’m outsmarting myself…. Bruce

There’s security cameras mounted all over that parking lot, so I’m not overly concerned. There’s a few guys that have Mustangs that park in that lot every now and then and we tend to park by each other way out there. Several BMW and Porsche SUVs as well, I will sometimes park next to them if they’re there before me and they will do the same from time to time. So there’s about a half dozen or so of us that look out for each other.

All s550 Mustangs are pretty solid, but if we MUST compare then...

GT350 > GT500(!!), Mach 1, GT, Ecoboost, Shelby American, Saleen, s650 Dark Donkey, any other mustang in history. It's not just the Mach 1 it's better than, but the Mach 1 owners seem the most intent on trying to prove something, I wonder why hmmm.

It's the best looking ever, best sounding ever, best driving ever. Reliability be damned, it's worth the price of admission of owning the best Mustang Ford has ever or will ever produce. So glad I have one, every single drive leaves me smiling for hours afterwards, the sound omg, the front end looks 😍, the view from the driver's seat of the shrink-wrapped hood 😍,

5.2 liter for life! 🍿
I’m truly appreciative of the GT350 without a doubt. Because without the GT350, we wouldn’t have the GT500 and the Mach 1 HP. Essentially the GT350 was beta testing by Ford, and everything they learned was implemented in the GT500 and Mach 1 HP.
