It could be the upper strut mounts.

This SSM was released for the GT350's regarding a front end clunk noise. Just because the SSM is for a GT350 doesn't mean the problem can't exist on other platforms:

Also the front strut mounts have been known to fail prematurely, causing a clunk noise from the front end:

Took the car in to the dealer today. The local tech referred to SSM 50672 as mentioned by CJ above. I now have to bring the car back when I can leave it for a few days so the tech can pull the struts and check the strut mounts. I then have to wait for the parts to arrive...

Did I mention that I hate it when other people bend wrenches on my cars?

There are not that many tools or fasteners involved. Get under your car and retorque them like a big boy.

Are you talking about tightening the strut mount bolts without removing the spring? You’re saying it could be the fix to the clunk?

I’ve heard that is a fix. I’d just buy and slap an isolator on then torque the strut bolt properly to end the saga.

I don’t know what an isolator is?
Can I get to these bolts by removing the tire or more is needed ?
Also anyone know the torque spec?
Sorry for my ignorance.
I’ve already removed the entire belly pan looking for a loose oil cooler mount that someone suggested but mine was tight.

it’s basically just a stupid rubber piece that prevents movement/noise between the spring and tophat.

you can try to torque the bolt without removing anything, pop hood and torque that strut to whatever the spec is (brain tells me it’s 40 something ft/lb but I can’t remember).

It sucks but your car is nice enough that I’d just let the warranty do it’s thing.

You might try and just crank on the bolt a bit and sit if it silents everything but if you’re warrantied I’d let them solve it.

It's not. You can do this. Buy a basic tool set and a couple big sockets from Home Depot or Harbor Freight. You'll spend more time taking it in that just giving it a wrench rattle yourself. You'll actually feel a lot better about the fix, as well.

If you give it a shot and don't find the problem, then, by all means, give it to a pro. I'm going to encourage you to have a go at it, though. At the very least, when the pro tells you what the issue was, you'll understand what he's talking about better.
