I'm experiencing some hesitation on acceleration passing around 3000-3500 rpm, and I'm not really sure what to think of it. It feels like a hiccup and you can hear the exhaust cutting, my buddy even said he saw my taillights jump around. This started happening after I installed some bolt ons and a Lund tune (PMAS 120mm CAI, 18+ mani, 1050x injectors, stainless headers). After some back and forth that felt like chasing a wild goose trying to express my concerns with Brandon at Lund, including a couple datalogs, an oil change and new spark plugs, he says this is the car going into enrichment and this is normal behavior and driving habits must change is all.
I must say its a little embarrassing to drive my car at this point. Any time I cross about 3000 rpm to speed up on the highway or just even catching up to traffic speed in town, my exhaust cuts for a split second and the car lurches like I dont know how to drive.
I find it hard to believe this is normal. I cant find any information about this either, and I dont think I've ever seen another mustang do this, or even talk about it.
What should I make of this? I have a date at a performance shop next month that I scheduled for diagnostics, but im worried the Lund tune will cause conflict if they want to make a change, and I would just rather have this fixed before then so I can cancel.
I've included here a video I recorded during the data log Brandon asked me to do to show the event happing (CEL on for P0420/P0430, long tube headers).

How the hell are you supposed to change your driving habits exactly? Is it on partial throttle or WOT or both?

Thats what I was wondering too. Do I just always wrap gears now? Try to stay over 3000? Unfortunately thats where his response ended. It'll be more pronounced and almost guaranteed on part throttle, and seemly invisible on wot.

Did you go over the installed parts? No leaks?

Yes, I've been over all the parts I've installed. Double checked and retorqued all clamps between the CAI and mani, headers and cat back. When installing the manifold (with mmr lockouts) I deleted the sound tube and aspirator, as per this thread;
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/2018-manifold-lines-connections-help.114043/
I even clamped the caps on.

Would be glad to post the data log, how do I go about taking it from my RTD to an upload file?

When you open the log in VCM scanner, name and save it to a folder. Then post the file to drop box or send it in an email. 6G won't allow HPL file extensions as attachments.

I think I might be missing something. I plugged my RTD into my computer after starting VCM Scanner and it didnt find anything, just some stock files in the install directory. My computer made a sound when I plugged it in but I didn't see anything to open under the open log window.

You have to log using the scanner.

Have you done datalogs before? Plug the RTD in, open vcm scanner. Press the car icon so vcm scanner connects. Then press the red button (I think) so it starts the datalog. Go drive then when done with the datalog press the blue square to stop datakogging. Then there should be a save icon. Click the save icon and name the datalog and save it someone you can find. Then upload the file to something like Dropbox.

Data logging via the TDN app/ network is a little different. The tuner makes the channel list, and then the logs get uploaded directly to them. Customers don't seem to have access to see any of it.

I doubt using VCM scanner will let anyone see anything of interest.

Have you tried it after pressing and holding the traction control to turn advance trac completely off? unplugged the sensor on the driver fender in the engine bay? does it still do it even after either of those?

Thanks for filling me in. I wouldn't mind doing a data log on computer with vcm scanner, but I'll have to do it after work later.
Yes I've tried turning advancetrac off, didnt make a difference unfortunately. Are you referring to the nanny plug thing? I dont think it would change any if I did, and also dont want everything else leaving it unplugged brings with it.

Was looking more into how to log using vcm scanner, is this not possible with just an rtd? I keep hearing mention of an mpvi2+, wich I'm pretty sure I dont have.

To answer your original question, it is an issue with your car, rather than the Lund tune. Lund tunes are highly vetted, there must be a mechanical or component issue somewhere I will bet. Maybe a sensor.

A quick test may help, flash back to stock tune, and see if the issue is resolved, don't push the car hard of course with the stock tune and all the mods...you won't hurt the car driving gently. If you have e85 in tank, you would need to switch to regular pump gas if course.

Edit, hopefully the car will idle and run with the new mods, if it idles right, it should be drivable.
Maybe the IM has a crack in it, but this should cause a lean condition I would think.

Good luck!
