If I had to guess lund wouldn't do an e70 tune for you because they don't want you assuming the ethanol % will stay at that level with out consistently checking e content. They gave me an e54r tune because 99% of our gas stations carry that blend. They were still very clear that I needed to test the fuel everytime if I'm not on the flex tune. Just my guess but I'm sure they don't want bad publicity if your running an e70 tune and grenade your motor.

If you have the a10 the flex will do great. Your always in the sweet spot so you don't have to worry about the timing ramping up slower. I have an mt82 and with the gearing e85r/ e54r is the way to go. I need more timing down low to get the manual moving!

Makes sense. I have the MT-82 also but the 4.09’s do a good job of getting it past the lower RPM’s so hoping I’ll feel a difference with the flex tune, not interested in doing E measurements.

So Shaun at AED got back to me and explained why the above logic doesn’t work. Sounds like temperature is a big factor with E85 tuning and the colder the temp, the more fuel is required, so if you don’t live in a warmer climate with good E85, flex is a better option. The very first thing Lund asked me too was if I lived in a colder climate. Makes sense if you think about the many stock vehicles you can buy tuned for flex, manufacturers know it will work whereever you live. Since PBD and Steeda never responded I’ll rule them out, and AED’s flex tune is almost half the price of Lund so I’ll probably go with the AED flex.
I will say Shaun is a wizard on the platform. Performance has been great and the service as well. You won't be disappointed. The lower price is just a plus.

The 4.09s will definitely help get past the sluggish start. Plus it will keep you at a better rpm shifting. Personally I wouldn't want to try launching on the e85r tune with 4.09s. Traction would be a bitch!

Traction improvements are definitely the next mod... will probably be doing a BMR CB005 cradle bushing lockout kit before the tune.

Hmm late breaking news... PBD finally answered and said they’d have no problem doing an E70 tune! Food for thought.

Trust me , coming from somebody that has PBD E85 4.09 gears and BMR goodies out back you wont be disappointed. I think it's a fun NA set up for the street.

Shaun just sent another message saying I'll get not only a flex tune but also a pump gas tune and an E85 tune - SOLD.

Has anyone compared a flex fuel or dedicated E85 tune from AED, Lund or PBD to the Ford performance tune/throttle body package? I know the Ford package gains about 40 ft/lbs of torque at 2k rpm and is supposed to wake up the A10. Just curious if these other tunes are also helping the lower rpm torque and transmission shifting as well. From what I can find peak hp will be higher with the e-85 tune but the low rpm torque gain from the Ford package might be more noticeable...?

a full E85 tune compared to the Ford performance pump gas tune will be a night and day different. the car will be MUCH faster on E85. and with the 10 speed why are you so concerned about torque? you're always in the power band so low end torque means absolutely nothing unless you're driving around in normal mode with the shifter in D and only ever use 1/4 throttle. power at 2k rpm with the 10 speed is absolutely pointless

i switched from 305/35/19 nitto nt555 g2 to 325/30/19 hankook ventus evo2 and the traction is so much better it feels like a different car now. traction is definitely important. with the nt555s i would step on it at 40mph on dry pavement and it would do a rolling burnout like i was on ice. also picked up about 4 tenths and 3mph on my backroad 1/4 mile testing (12.4 at 118 vs 12.0 at 121). last time i went to the track on the nt555s i did a 12.0 @ 121 with like a 2.3 60ft spinning a ton (vs 11.9 at 119 on 91) so i think i can pull off an 11.7 at 123mph when the track opens by just switching to these new tires alone

Ya g2 are fine on fronts but can't hook in the rear. Their 555r2 though is excellent. Very streetable DR that can hook power but still handle dd and rain.
