Cutting up the floor is not a minor (or cheap) thing to do.You could have someone look to see if you could cut the floor pan around the seat sliders and lower the pan by a couple of inches and have wedges welded in to add the clearance you need.
That way you can keep all the original functions and could be cheaper than replacing the seat.
I had my fabricator look at cutting up the stock seat mount or fabbing a custom mount that retained the stock adjusters, sliders, and Seat in my Focus ST. His conclusion was that with all the junk in the trunk of the stock seats, 1" was about all you could gain. Hardly worth the effort. I should be able to gain 3-4" with aftermarket seats and mount. So much for staying GS legal.
