sorry to hear Rob,

I think my motor is done as well. Did a quick pull to get in the freeway. Then white smoke on my tail pipes =/ pulled over coolant everywhere. Tear down next week, my buddies think its head gasket but Will from RPG will be building me the new 5.2 block.

Damn bro. Always some shit. I wish I had the money for a 5.2 RPG block. I would definitely follow your lead. I'm going to put some forged rods and pistions in my stock block. If I can make 850hp all day long without any issues I'll be good with that. They say the a Gen 2 blocks can handle 1000hp.

Will is awesome .Are you going to sleeve the block like this one ?
OP, I know it’s still a lot of coin but the non sleeved version is about $2300 and will hold about 1300 hp ,so worth saving up for (since your car still runs )
That’s the Gen3/predator (KR3Z-6010-A) .

The Gen 2/latest voodoo(GR3Z-6010-F)is slightly cheaper but still plenty strong .

Especially since you may end up needing a new block .
A new Gen 3 block is sitill relatively cheaper at like $900 bucks though .

I was going to go w the 5.0 block and just beef up the internal and get it sleeved but he let me know about the new 5.2 and just going with that. You should be good brotha 850 to the wheels is more than enough on the streets.

I decided on doing the 5.2 , he said something about it coming from the new GT500 blocks. I will post more details when he sends me all the specs.

sorry to hear but good choice .
I have been very happy with my 2 RPG built 5.2 blocks .
Built “Gen 2” short block in my Hellion car and built /sleeved Voodoo.
Wow thats a badass motor my dude. Met Will 4 years ago at our Whipple Dyno event at Fresno then and he is a great guy. Honored to have him build mine as well.

Got exactly the same problem. P1SC Procharger stage 2. Noticed oil coming out the vented catch can so did the compression test. Still holds boost (7.5psi) and drives like stock with almost no signs of issue, just down on power a little. C1: 225psi, C2: 228psi, C3: 226psi, C4: 230psi, C5: 235psi, C6: 229psi, C7: 230psi, C8: 180psi

Been driving it without issue (not babying it but not full tilt either) for about 9 months now without trouble. If it goes, it goes but i'm saving for a block. Will likely go this route when i can afford it https://www.jpcracing.com/rgr-built-5-0-coyote-short-block-rated-1100-hp/

$5,800 is that just for the block? No internals?

I am afraid so . The bare block before additional upgrades retails for about $2500 shipped .
Sleeving a block runs up to $3K .

Just to say you did it, pull the fresh air line off the cam cover, leave the PCV valve connected. Put a vac gauge on the fresh air tube. If you don't have at least 2-3" of vacuum at idle, you have your answer. You might then wanna do the motor before too much more driving. You probably haven't punched a hole in the block, but broken stuff Luke ring lands is a bomb waiting to go off.

Nice ! That is going to be one bad ass build ... but will be worth it . Hope you start a build thread so I can follow . I don’t do instagram but I opened an account so I can follow his builds . Lol

The Gen 1 Voodoo he built in my GT 350 is sleeved but this 5.2 R block is a different animal .

I am planing one last build(hopefully ) with him as I am going to send him my stock Gen 3 long block to convert to a 5.4 sleeved stroker .

Have you considered a stroker build ? Will said he has built a few and the torque gain is awesome .
