I say you get one of the Gen 3 Alluminators if they are available.

Least amount of downtime when you are ready and then you can take your long block out and build up in your own time so you have a spare .

I am building one with a long block I scored on line for cheap .
Same specs but will upgrade the valve springs and have ARP head studs . It will be yet another spare ....... but if I ever decide to build that stroker with my stock long block(whenever I swap in the predator build ) then the Alluminator will be up for sale .

Depending on cost the Gen 3 Alluminator short block may also be an option although I bet you will be able to have one built but cheaper .

I wish ford would make a gen3 aluminator with compression between 9.5 and 12. I wonder if anyone could really nail the tuning at 9.5/1.

I don't have the money right now for a build... just bought a damn stage 3 Ben calimer transmission. Do you think I'll be ok to drive the car on the weekends??? As long as I stay out of boost I'm thinking I'll be ok. Probably won't be ready for a rebuild until mustang week.I want to save the block

I can’t see very well in the picture... is that piston spattered and melted?

Vortech V7JT. Its oil on top of the piston..supposed to be dry
that sucks… But that texture on the top of the piston, can you tell, is that just carbon deposits? Or aluminum spatter from detonation ?

Carbon deposits. The compression was low but it's not at 100 or 50 or 0. No check engine light no misfire codes. I think the compression would have to be really low for there to be aluminum spatter or mental flakes

sorry to hear Rob,

I think my motor is done as well. Did a quick pull to get in the freeway. Then white smoke on my tail pipes =/ pulled over coolant everywhere. Tear down next week, my buddies think its head gasket but Will from RPG will be building me the new 5.2 block.
