Looking at chassis numbers as well as dealer availability and Ebay offerings, it seems like for held off to the end to then dump the market with R models? 200 made in the first 6 months or so with about 250 made in the past 4-6 weeks.... Hmmmmm..... Artificial inflation for ADM?

I'm feeling like the build rate of the R is strongly tied to availability of the carbon wheels. There were few to start with but the winter gave them some time to catch up production and now they can pump out the Rs with a healthy stock of wheels. Just speculation though.

So are you suggesting that the "R" model production/chassis numbers are up to GR450 already?

Not sure where you are getting your information but there were only ~45 "R" models built during the first 4 months of production (August to November) with the last R models being built on November 23rd for the 2016 calendar year.

After the November 23rd shut down of R model production these cars were not produced again for approximately 3 months with production starting back up again in late February or early March 2016.

Where are you getting your production information which indicates 250 R models being assembled over the last 4 to 6 weeks?

Lastly, to suggest that Ford is creating some sort of artificial inflation with recent increased production in order to create ADM's is very hard to comprehend.

What is your source of information for the above?

Some posted on another forum that they were at flat rock and saw 440-445 or something like that pass through the line

It's my personal conspiracy theory that they are building the 16-17 Rs consecutively to allow dealers to enjoy the ADMs, rather than see the 2016s resold to buyers who don't want to wait for the 2017s.

Ford does not get any part of an ADM, so artificially inflating the market would not make sense. It is known that the hold up has been the limited availability of the carbon fiber wheels.

That would be on pace to get to around 500 for the MY.

This is truth. Unfortunate but true.

Does anyone know if the R wheels are added in the mod shop? I ask as a week after being produced my car still hasn't made it to the mod shop.

Carbon fiber wheels are added post-assembly line, is my understanding.

Hmmmm yea the wheel thing would make sense, too.... Just thought it odd that so few were initially built and now they seem to be churning them out.... lol Buyer's remorse, perhaps?

To give you a little insight...

Ohtoobad's R is GR038, I believe, and my R is GR064... His car was completed in November2015, my car in March2016.

The reason R's were being slowly kicked out had to be due to the limited availability of tires/wheels and then there was the winter delay.

They could turn out 50/day or more if they wanted. The car was slated for 500/year and it looks like that is where they will be.
I put in a guess at 1000 total. That would make 37 '15s, 481 '16s and 482 '17s
If they make it in '18, it will nullify my theory.
