Sorry to hear about your buddy. It's the worst day of being a pet owner. The worst one for me was our 17-year-old tom Lucy, still bothers me three years later. Pets really are family members.
We had a big old tom that came with us to our current home in the country back in 2003, first cat I personally ever had as a pet. A year later he disappeared after going out for the night (which he HAD to do). He was extremely territorial, not to mention getting old, and my guess is either a raccoon or coyote took him out.Yep we think it was a coyote or bobcat. He started venturing off from the yard and we moved to a place with more wildlife. Recently we have been restricting him going out at night but looks like it was still too early in the morning to avoid them.
Cats all have slightly different personalities, but I've found they're all pretty smart. In my opinion the males tend to be more dog-like. Chances are you'll find another, some of the best we've had were shelter cats.My worry is I won't find another like him. We have 2 other cats who just don't have the best personalities. Jack was really human-like, he had the personality of a dog more than a cat.
