Earlier this month I had inch and 7/8ths kooks catted LTH installed. Unfortunately I could only source the OEM connection version, so the headers go to 2.25” then back to my 3” catback. There are 3” connection pipes I could buy, but N/A am I really loosing any flow or power? The car is pretty basic, tuned with a gt350 manifold and on pump 92.

It's a real bottle neck @engineermike did pressure testing. Search for his thread.

Good to know, i see that the kooks pipes are slip-joint style. Would they slip onto a corsa X-pipe? Just want to be sure that I order the correct clamp style.

i wanna say no. Seems parts manufactures nowadays go out of there way to make sure incompatibility is alive and well.

NA small cube engine no way it needs dual 3”. Large cube big blocks maybe, but not a 302.

I would cut out the 2 1/4 section and fab up a 3 inch connection. If you don't have welders ect I would take it to an exhaust shop.

3 inch butt clamps would probably work if you don't want to weld.

Something like this.

Nice okay. For context, the kooks 3 inch pipe I’m looking at would actually slip onto the header end without needing to cut, the reducer portion was a slip-on. Same with the corsa system
Basically, no part of the 2.25 inch pipe is permanently on which limits fab work required. I will need a butt clamp for sure. Not going to weld it since kooks+ corsa is very loud, and I’d like the option to swap catback/resonator components at will.

Yeah, this basic N/A setup is only making 450 whp. It survived a 6 hour track day so I think it’s fine.

you have to consider the RPMs as well, and resonance effects. a 302 turing 7500 is the same as a 460 turning 5k. requires a lot of exhaust area.

ARH made a direct connect from theirs to Corsa double X but not sure if Kooks has the same offering.
