Did they run the Gen 3 on 87 and the Gen 4 on 93?
No, both are on 87. CJPP confirmed in the comments. Dealer filled the S650 with 87 so they put 87 in the S550 to compare apples to apples

Do you really think that the Gen 4 motor is starved for air coming into the intake manifold that a set of aftermarket intakes will make a discernable difference?
not just cold air, I’m sure people will slap a CJ on it etc.. point is we haven’t seen what this engine is truly capable of with the redesign.

So….. In that case, new block, heads, cams, intake, T/B’s, etc etc

HP gain….20.

Brilliant….. LOL.

I’ll take the Gen2/3 behind door #2. :)

Even worse when you think about the Mach 1 and Bullit which already made 480 with a Gen 3 coyote and GT 350 intake manifold.

Lol you guys are TRYING not to see the point.
Give some time to see what it really puts out after FBO/E85, boost etc…

I fully expect boosted DH motors to make 1100 plus reliably.

This is probably better debated on the 7G site, but who is going to write a tune/calibration for a CJ for the S650? Is FP going to write one and sell a calibration kit like they did for S550? The “custom tuners” aren’t going to have access to the ECU.

Same goes for E85, who is going to write that tune with a locked ECU? I am curious what Whipple is going to be able to do with it, although I’m guessing it will be a fairly conservative tune if it’s going to have a warranty attached to it (assuming it will have a warranty like a Roush or FP)

The ECU will be cracked, just a matter of time. C8 corvettes couldn't be tuned for a long time, now within the last few months they can.

Are the bottom end and/or valvetrain any stronger than a Gen 2 or 3?

Exactly, so there's no reason to expect them to hold together more reliably at high power levels. Maybe he just means the basic ability to make 1100 whp which I thought was already easy to do with twins or a big centri and E85.

Not seeing the significant upgrades the S650 offers beyond styling changes.
