Probably a silly question but I have aftermarket wheels and tires on my car (20inch rims) will this effect my dyno numbers? I've seen cars make 370hp -395hp stock on the dyno, why does one car make more power then the other from the factory?

Because no two cars or dynos are the same. That being said, if you dyno the car on 10 different dynos you could possibly see that spread of 370-395 for the same car.
And can't imagine 20's dynoing higher normally due to weight but the difference I would think is negligible and certainly wouldn't show up on a dyno. Atmospheric conditions, traction, engine temps, alignment on the drum, etc. etc. would all change numbers.

No two cars are 100% the same. Just like no two people are 100% alike. As far as wheels I'm note sure if the weight matters. I know that forged wheels help with unsprung hp, due to less rotating mass. I think it only helps the engine rev quicker.

Different cars will themselves produce slightly different numbers.

Different dynos read differently (Mustang/Dynojet/Land and Sea/DD/etc) and even within a brand you will see differences between inertia based units versus eddy current versions.

Ambient conditions make a HUGE difference

Start modifying cars, and this changes even more. This is why when comparing sets of modifications from one car to another, it is important to ignore peak numbers, and actually look at delta (change)

----------

When comparing my own modifications, I always dyno before, and after and do not rely on a previous sessions run (when possible) as the ambient conditions may be throwing off numbers slightly. Obviously when I installed my SuperCharger, I ran the car on different days, as this was unavoidable ... that being said, I knew I was going to be looking at a +-180whp change, and wasnt worried about nuance

However when I install my cat-back next week, I will run the car that morning, install the cat back, and then run it again ... to atleast narrow the window as much as possible.

The biggest difference is auto vs manual.
