No need for hostility. I am simply pointing out a fact that the EB w/PP/Auto is the better Mustang.
It sure is. I'll tell you all the ways my Ecoboost was better than my GT:

1. It sounded like a droning fart.

2. Everybody said "nice Mustang, what motor did you get?" Yeah, THAT conversation always went south in a hurry. "A -FOUR- Cylinder? You p*ssy!"

3. It was slower in a line. And I did some pretty aggressive tuning with it. Still slower.

4. I'm a sh*t driver, so whether or not it is faster in autocross, I'd never know, because I'd hit every cone and roll the car, I'm sure.

5. It was an automatic. That conversation went south in a hurry, too: "An AUTOMATIC? You p*ssy!"

6. The gas mileage improvement turned out to be pretty marginal after tuning, and driving it like a complete f*ckhead.

7. A friend of mine blew her Ecoboost motor up trying to race with GTs. I decided I didn't want to repeat her achievement.

No, my friend, it was not the better car. Not a bad car, mind you. Nothing wrong with it, but not better than a GT.

Please just take it from those who have made the switch. GT owners that have only owned a GT made a better decision sure, but those of us that have owned both can speak to the merits of both.

As others have said, if you're on the fence...you know the answer.

A silver lining to the gas thing is that you meet some regulars at the station every other day!

A stock EB/PP auto is .5 seconds slower than a GT/PP to 60, and the EB/PP will out slalom and out brake a GT/PP. You get better mpg and better insurance.rates.
So not to start a fight on this because I like both cars. I went to a source that tested both cars. An auto PP ecoboost and a GT PP. They are not on the same day but same publication and test standards.

ECOBOOST 0-60: 5.6
GT PP 0-60: 4.4

ECOBOOST 60-0: 106 FT
GT PP 60-0: 107 FT

ECOBOOST Figure 8: 25.5
GT PP: Figure 8: 24.7

ECOBOOST Streets of Willow: 1:27:32
GT PP Streets of Willow: 1:24:32

Were there really folks calling you a p*ssy because you had an ecoboost? Was this on a middle school playground?

I mean I get it .... people are sensitive after making a purchase about getting approval from others. Its part of our culture for better or worse. Especially with automobiles and them being peacock feathers.

....but this is a bit much!

Streets of Willow time says a lot.
Be interesting to see them dump about 2-3k into that EB PP and have another go at it. Aftermarket IC, custom Tune, BOV, etc.

The stock IC on the EB is a miserable piece of crap that really hampers any degree of performance consistency. There were times my EB was fantastic, and other hot muggy days with high ambient temps where it felt like I was towing a buffalo.

Damn they literally insulted you RIGHT away and right in front of you.
It's kind of funny to think about but it's f*ed up. I could never make fun of a persons car choice because I never know their situation...but it seems like having the 4cyl Mustang will really bring out the worst in people.

My conversations usually go like this
"Nice Mustang, is this the V8?"
"Its the V6"
"Why did you get it, you coulda had a V8"
"DUDE WTF no I couldn't, I didn't approved for that sh*t"

I have a 4 cylinder Mustang.. and the topic of the engine often comes up with strangers as well.. it goes something like:

"What the hell do you have in that thing? a jet?!"

:D

Love the sound of the MMR CAI.. this drivetrains one redeeming quality is the induction noise, everything else sucks. Especially the heat soak and awful (aftermarket) exhaust sounds Lol.

I considered doing a Muffler/Resonator delete as I think that's probably the best sounding combo out of the available options.. but why? It's still doesn't sound good Lol.

Love how it screams at high revs..

So for the guy who just traded his GT for an Audi S3 so he could get his kids in the back seat- I have a feeling he is going to be much happier with his 4cyl turbo car than with the GT. Well, at least until it is out of warranty.

This is a no win conversation. Buy whatever the f*** you want. You are paying for it. I have had tons of V8 cars over the years and wanted to try something different. Would I rather have the same exact car in a V8 ? Sometimes I think so but most of the time I am happy with my purchase. I could really give a sh** what anyone else thinks. Most of the time it guys that cant afford a new Mustang anyway, ask them what they drive when they slam your choice of car, its usually some p.o.s Honda or even nothing at all. lol

Many times.

One time by a 60+ year old man at one of the car meetups around here. So not limited to the middle school playground, I'm afraid.

Honestly I wouldn't mind an Ecoboost for my commutes. I wish I could afford to have the Ecoboost and the GT.

I got 31.2 mpg last Sunday on a drive over to Tampa with speeds from 70-80 mph.

You in Tampa? Come to the Pony Up Mustang Mondays at Biffs sometime. 1st Monday of the meetups. Good people (except for me - I'm an asshole, but honest about it).

Yea exactly. I drive almost all highway (95%) and I'm at like 20.1
GT with 3.31 gears does okay on gas -- if/when you don't drive it like a f*ckhead (which I usually do, so it's rare that I see this kind of fuel economy):
