Which lightweight battery is suggested for our cars?
Daily driver or not daily driver friendly. Doesn't matter

A Deka ETX18L or the Braille B14115 would be a good option.

Are there any good lightweight batteries that are "plug and play" with the existing battery holder, cables, etc? It seems like most of them need semi-custom installation, with special brackets, tiedowns, tray, etc.

As much incentive as there is to reduce weight on cars, I'm surprised they haven't started to offer lightweight batteries as a factory option.

I'm surprised that they are not put in the trunk yet.

Problem with that is you add a lot of extra weight running all that thick cable to the trunk

It also gives it better F/R and cross balance.

Still about weight transfer.
Would rather take off weight lightening up the front then add weight running from the front to the back of the car

Hmm .
I think between my fuel system pumps “priming” and intercooler fan coming on when the car is keyed off ... I have had to keep a portable “jumper” in my car at all time
Batter probably needs to be replaced now

This is kind of expensive but if it’s going to save me replacing batteries x2 a year (or more), weight savings and the cool remote start technology it may be pay for itself .
Just need to wait for a 15% or more sale .
