The Forgestar’s look like a solid value wheel. The down side is the limited range of styles, only the CF5 and CF10 can be made to fit the Shelby, according to Forgestar. Gets a little frustrating. If cost is not a concern then it’s fairly wide open.

If I may jump in you guys have some serious options right now.

For instance under $1500 for a set

P51 101RF Wheels

19x11 ET 24 22.3 lbs
19x11.5 ET 56 21.25 lbs

Forged wheel options

BC Forged wheels Under $3350 for a set
Forgeline wheels ( very on the option you go with).

I had a couple of different sets of them on various BMWs and I was very happy with them.

I don't think they have a 19X11.5 option for the GT350 IIRC and if it matters.
They did have a R-spec set planned in the group buy a few months back. They did add the 19x11" wheel to their lineup: 19x11 EC-7

EDIT: Didnt look and Honeybadgers link exactly - same link.

Forgestar CF5V weighs 25lbs front and 23.5 rear in 19x11. They are perfectly fine to handle the type of driving you described, and you could probably get a set shipped for under $1800. CF10 is another viable Forgestar option for the 350.

BC Forged and Signature are fully forged wheels and will run low to upper-mid 3k depending on what you get. BC Forged has many options. Big difference between them and Forgeline is they are manufactured in Taiwan rather than US, and material is sourced in Asia instead of California. Forgelines will be a couple grand more. Weights for all these wheels, depending on style, will generally be in the 21-23lb range.

Another thing to consider is barrel clearance. Some wheels are TIGHT. The Forgestar wheels are about 7mm clearance, which is about as good as it gets. BC and Forgeline are about 5 mm. Not sure on Sigs.

Stock wheels are about 32 pounds.

Thanks, this is very informative. It looks like signature wheels are what I need and are perfect.

Not much spoke material on the P51s compared to some others. Just something to consider depending on intended use.

In general, less spoke material means less strength. Especially considering this is a non-forged wheel. Not an issue for street driving, but something to consider if heavy autocrossing or open track driving. Paul knows all these wheels inside and out. I'd give him a call so he can recommend your best option for intended use and price point, as well as concessions you make with price.

...but but wait a minute. 4k for 25 lbs wheels ? The 6GR's are under 26 and under 24 from memory for the rear ? and cost 1/3 of that ?
What's the point . I understand if you mean 20lbs, then yeah, might worth it. But for a mere pound, to cash out extra 2.5 k ?

Unfortunately they only have the single 19x11 EC-7 wheel at a 52 offset which is fine for the rear but nothing for the front without using a spacer. They do offer a 19x10.5 with a 22 offset but not for the Mustang.

Some of their multipiece wheels will work too. I have CF5V's and they fit (not a two piece). I have 19 x 11's all around and they fit fine. I did a 25+ front and I went with a 60+ offset in the rear. The only thing I wish I did was a 58+ offset in the rear. Reason being is because the spokes on the rears come pretty close to the brake caliper, about 2mm. I wanted as close to a factory offset as possible. I'm not concerned about them hitting the caliper so much as just in case of debris or rocks but that's such a small gap that issues probably can't even happen anyway.

What do you mean? As in how does that make a difference?
Just look at the load rating. If the total load rating for all 4 corners exceeds the weight of the car by a good margin you'll be fine unless you're a pro racer or someone who's literally a track rat who is shaming all other lesser rats.

Make no mistake wheels ARE a wear part but at what rate? Are you or any of us really THAT good to kill a set of wheels within a timeframe that would put yourself under risk? And what tires? Hoosier R's? A's? Or Pilot Super Sports? There are some out there who say you should be a 2x the load rating for wheels if you're tracking regardless of tire. Really? So what we're trying to say the factory GT350 wheels, which are cast aluminum, and got BEAT to snot during all of these Track Tour days aren't up to the task? I'm gonna go ahead and guess they do not have a 1900lb load rating per wheel...

Forgeline GA1R's are rated at something like 2000lbs per wheel at 19" diameter and are run on IMSA etc etc. My Forgestars are rated at 1600 per wheel.

Remember here too we have Mustangs, not 5500lb Bentley Continental GT's.
