Disagree with anyone saying that the 6gr is the way to go. Lots of great options from this company that won't break the bank and will be substantially nicer (imo) than going with the 6gr

Street wheels as far as I'm concerned. I don't track them anymore

Ahh - makes sense. Great for street. Always been a bit cautious myself over the caliper clearance for the track.

That being said, I don't know if anyone ever had any real issues regarding the clearance.

Completely agree with you. While the 6gr's are a great cost/quality wheel, I'd have to say that the styling is not for everyone, myself included. I really like the variety that BC offers, likely better variety than any other manufacturer in its price range.

It all really depends on the result you are after. Only you can answer that question (cost vs performance). I can say that it was a huge improvement on my track pack (when i had it) running lighter wheels and sticky tires. My advice would be forgelines and cup 2's. As your first mod (that is if you are building to track)

In order of priority

Cup 2's
Wheels
CF drive shaft

Wheels and tires on top of the list by far
Ignorance is bliss. I'm perfectly happy with my Track Pack. I have no doubt Forgelines & Cup2s would make a great improvement. But once I start spending that kind of cash, I might as well think about spending more and getting an R.

That's why I've never attempted to drive an R. Ignorance is bliss. :p

Can someone explain street wheels vs track wheels? Why cant you track bc forged wheels?

Also, I went to their site and dont see any numbers as far as weight goes. I never custom ordered wheels so I dont know how to do this.

I dont really track the car and even if I do, it would be once a year or maybe twice at the most. Its a daily driver so no cup2s for me.

Dedicated track wheels like Forgeline for example have a higher load rating and are designed to take heavy heavy abuse. Pounding over rumble strips, etc on the track hour after hour, day after day. Any other wheel whether factory or from a reputable aftermarket company will be fine on the track as well. They may he heavier which hurts performance but isn't unsafe and/or they may have a lower load rating but they aren't going to bend after running over a curb or two. I've run my Signature SV104s hard at VIR and they were great.

Forged wheels are going to be lighter than the same sized cast wheels. As someone else mentioned, Signature or BC Forged is a good middle of the road solution. You get a quality, custom forged wheel, that is in the low 20lb range, that meets your price range.

Send me a PM if you would like a formal quote for a set of Signature wheels.

Tick over 5k and you have the lightest and strongest wheels that I know of that are currently available and that's the forgeline gs1r. If you're at 4k it only makes sense to me to step up.

If you aren't going to track the car then I wouldn't waste money on wheels of drive shaft. If you want a different look or run a square setup that I understand. When you are punching out over 500 hp and street driving a couple of # saving in rotational mass wont be noticed even in the butt dyno ;)

Again, what is the OP trying to accomplish? I wouldn't spend that kind of coin unless I needed the performance and strength. Street only? I'd scale it all way back.

Not going to track the car extensively. Its very expensive where I live and not very reachable unless you are dropping $2k/event. That being said, I will AutoX and I do a lot of weekend country road driving very early weekend mornings.

For driveshaft, I believe it makes a notcieable difference at any driving situation.

I was under the impression wheels also make a noticeable difference.

The difference between a 24 lb wheel and a 20 lb wheel is 40% more improvement. Thats significant but not significant enough to warrant 4x the price tag. Thats why I dont want to exceed $3000. If a 20 lb wheel costs $6000, I m willing to pay $3000 for 21 lbs which is I guess signature wheels cost?

I dont want to spend $2000 for 25 lbs, I think I d rather spend a bit more and feel more improvement.

Also by "if not tracking you are wasting money" logic, a large majority of gt350 owners should be driving GT

The biggest improvement you're going to feel is braking...and that is if you're good enough at braking to even realize what's going on. Which most of us are not. A 10lb difference on all 4 corners on braking? Sure, that's more apparent.

Forgestar CF5V weighs 25lbs front and 23.5 rear in 19x11. They are perfectly fine to handle the type of driving you described, and you could probably get a set shipped for under $1800. CF10 is another viable Forgestar option for the 350.

BC Forged and Signature are fully forged wheels and will run low to upper-mid 3k depending on what you get. BC Forged has many options. Big difference between them and Forgeline is they are manufactured in Taiwan rather than US, and material is sourced in Asia instead of California. Forgelines will be a couple grand more. Weights for all these wheels, depending on style, will generally be in the 21-23lb range.

Another thing to consider is barrel clearance. Some wheels are TIGHT. The Forgestar wheels are about 7mm clearance, which is about as good as it gets. BC and Forgeline are about 5 mm. Not sure on Sigs.

Stock wheels are about 32 pounds.
