Looking to switch/convert the current RHD headlamps on my 2016 GT to LHD - for permanent export to Continental Europe. Has anyone done this, or know where to source LHD Euro headlamps?

Didn't think the headlights were handed anymore ?

Thought they were the same headlights throughout Europe, as they are flat beam now and do not kick up towards the passenger side, to illuminate the pavement in the UK like older cars did.

Maybe wrong though, best wait for someone with more knowledge

Actually - I now think you may be right - a few people say the Mustang has flat beams and so not LHD/RHD. Not sure how to check this on my actual car, but sounds good!

Park it pointing straight facing a plain wall and reverse back a car length or so - the kick up is very obvious on my sportage :like:

Yeah just park in front a wall. I don’t think I’ve seen cutoffs that weren’t noticeable.

I noticed my beams shining on a neighbours house last night - defo not a flat beam with a very obvious kick up on the left side.

Note, mines a 2020 if that makes a difference ?

I think the kick up is actually the same both sides on my 2019 car which should be the same as your car with the LED headlights ?

Pre facelift cars however had different lights (not LED but HID or candles depending on spec.)

Pretty sure it was just on the left, but you see two of them staggered / offset, one from each light.

Let me recheck and I will comment back. I wasn’t really looking for it, I spotted it on the off chance when reversing up the drive I noticed the same pattern as my sportage which is HID) and only remembered this thread later :like:

I don't know about RHD, but my LHD headlights project the exact same pattern as any other LHD car I've ever seen. The step-up going from left to right is very noticeable, as is the shape of the light patch on the road (it's obvious that it's longer on the right hand side of the road).
Of course, in your case it would be reversed - step-up from right to left, and the light patch longer on the left hand side.

Picture speaks a thousand words, here’s my RHD U.K. spec 2020 :

That’s from quite close up, maybe two car lengths (absolute max) - the further away you are the more obvious it becomes :like:

I wonder if the shields in the projector housings are reversible? On some projectors it’s possible to do so and some not. Would be a lot cheaper than buying LHD headlights.

Are the 2018+ headlights all LED?

Found a useful post on another Mustang forum from Dave at GT101 that clarifies things (this concerns pre-2018 S550s): ā€˜

Whilst this is true - S550s sold in the UK don't have US headlights - UK and Euro supplied cars have E Marked headlights which will have the kick up to illuminate the pavement/sidewalk ...’
So, it’s US 2015-17 cars that have the flat beams. Looks like I’ll have to source some LHD lights now (and about Ā£1000!)

That would be great - and a nice upgrade too - but they'll have US wiring/electrics! Won't work on UK/Euro wiring
