Wow, didn’t realize there’s a difference.

Out of curiosity what’s the difference?

I'm not an electrician, but they use different wiring - eg, in the N.American/US version, DRLs are in the main lamps (in Europe, they are part of the lower fog lamps, at least for the 2015-17 model)

Well I was just over at hidplanet and found pics of the projector that’s inside your headlight. The shield is not reversible but the projector itself is swappable if you found US Spec RX350 projectors but that would mean opening up your headlights, swap the projector and resealing them.

Brave! You lost me at 'opening up your headlights' - not something I'd ever do

I’ve done it many times lol. Well I hope you find the headlights you need.

Have a look at this page from the 2015-17 manual. The front beams can be adjusted in the horizontal plane - but would this be enough to make it pass a non-dazzle test for LHD? So, the beam pattern does indeed look like it has a kick up. Adjusting it wouldn't flip/reverse the kickup to make them exactly like true LHD lamps, but it could move the whole beam (both lights) away from the left (where dazzle issue to oncoming drivers would be).

No that’s not going to work. The step will always be there even if you adjust left and right.

Of course – I don’t expect to eliminate the kick up but I would think that it would be moved away from the direction of oncoming traffic and more onto the centre of the road with this adjustment.

You’d want to adjust it vertically then. Point it more to the ground rather than straight ahead but then you wouldn’t people to see as much. Also it’s called a step, not a kick up.

Great - good idea. To lower the step - would you use the vertical adjuster on the light unit itself (also discussed in the manual) or the beam levelling switch on the dashboard? Or both even?

Try doing it manually first and see if it resets itself. If it does then do it from the dashboard. I have a S197 so I don’t know how that works on the S550 but on other cars when you adjust it from the dash it doesn’t usually reset every time you start the car.

Do not touch the horizontal adjustment. It’ll be a pain to get it straight.
