So this is going to be my first winter with the Mustang. I've noticed since the clocks went back and I'm commuting in the dark they the headlights aren't much cop. Full beam in the Mustang is about the same as regular beam in my wife's Kia! Going to ask the dealer to check the alignment, but wondered if anyone else found them to be poor?

seems a common thing I'm sure I've seen @twinTurbo whinge about his 95 and 197 headlights.

Your man to speak to about upgrading headlights is John577 I generally drive with high beams on down country roads/dark roads until I see someone. the headlights do get dirty fast on these so I do clean mine every couple of days with wet wipes to get the dirst and crud off as that really effects the vision on them.

Why I fitted the high power fog lights, helped a bit with dark winter wet night driving.

Export models have 25W headlights, whereas USA is 35W.

Indeed, the thing to do is to keep the headlights as clean as possible. Other thing, if you're really not happy with the brightness (and I really understand, the OEM parts on the export model are crap), you can upgrade the headlights with the US 35w parts.

They need a slight modification but clearly gives you more light on the road

My Mum bought a new Mini in 2016 and that is the same!! I think it's something to do with our eyes not being tuned into led streetlighting, that's what my optician says anyway??

You can use Forscan to turn the DRL's on with main beam. I wonder if it can also keep the DRL's on with dipped beam too...?

But yes, standard dipped beam is shite. At least the range is. What they illuminate is ok it's just that it doesn't go very far.

Thanks for all the replies. What's required to upgrade to the 35w headlights?

Have you tried adjusting the level/angle of the beams using the pop out level control knob in the lighting control cluster?

Just an update on my original post.

Took the car into the dealer today, apparently one of the connections was loose which is why my O/S headlight wasn't very bright. Now fixed, the difference driving home was literally night and day!

They are also going to replace my rear brake pads to try and fix the squealing noise they make.

A* for dealer service in this occasion
