Question for you all.

I ended up with Porsche-spec 102Y on the front of my R (blew one tire and that's what the local Discount Tire had). I like the additional tread depth as I've been sawing through my 98Ys in no time. Frankly, I'm not a good enough driver to enjoy and perks that the 98Ys might have.

I'm looking at the standard 315/30R19 100Y or 325/30/R19 105Y N0(Porsche) for the rear. It is my understanding that the latter will fit R spec wheels without issue. Are the rear 105Y's "Porsche-spec" with deeper tread like the front 102Ys?
Looks like both of the 19" Porsche-spec PSC2 sizes are 7.2/32 tread depth. It's the 305/xx-19 and 315/xx-19 tires that come with only 6/32, 5.5/32, or ?/32.

Seems like most of the PSC2's come with 7.2/32 tread depth.

Bumping this I need new tires and it doesn't look like anything will be one sale. Id like 8 to 10 days on them.

I'm trying either NT01s for the Nankang AR1s next depending on what is available. Will probably pick them up in September or October

I’m in the same boat with the new wheels coming in a few weeks. Just haven’t decided how serious of tire to get (still learning how to drive lol) and the pricing right now puts everything relatively close with a few exceptions. Probably will end up with the RE71R, but the NT01 is tempting as is the Porsche spec Cup 2 (depending on price).

What about the EAGLE F1 SUPERCAR 3R they seem about 100 less then the competition and not to fall off as fast as the SC2

Don’t think you’ll get the 8-10 days on them. It sounds like they wear out after only a few days which negates the lower initial cost.

I forgot which forum member told me this; they ran the 3R and it was done in about 4 track days.

Going to run the NT01 at the Glen Sept 2-3. The tread blocks look meaty. A buddy has 6 track days on his so far and is taking them to the Glen but the car is an S2000 (much lighter). His times have improved as they have worn.

They are pricey $400 on JEG’s for the 305/30/R19, but I’m counting on the tire life to be longer and the performance to be more consistent than the PSC2’s I just discarded.

What was your experience on the PSC2s?

Take this for what it’s worth but they were late 2017 production date wheels from an R. About 600 miles or so previous owner said. Visually in great condition.

Front camber 2.5 deg, rear around 1.8 deg. These tires definitely need more camber say 3-3.5.
Lasted 4 track days. Ran about 1 sec. quicker than RE71R at Thunderbolt. On the 4th day I was at Lime Rock. Front grip dropped precipitously. Lost 3 seconds by the 4th session and skipped the 5th because the understeer was so bad. Fronts were close to cording but never got there. Plus the tramlining was no joke on these tires; two hands on the wheel especially on our metro roads. Won’t run them again.

Goodyear Supercar 3 have lasted me 5-6 track days on my Camaro. You can now get that tire in various 20’s, 19’s and 18’s.

I went out to the garage and went through my tire inventory to see where I stand. As I explained in an earlier post in this thread, I was working through a set of Trofeo R's that were a bit of a legacy issue - I had a pair of 285/35x19's left from my GT500, so I put them on the front of my GT350 and put a set of 325/30x19's on the rear. So, I now have 9 track days on both pairs of tires - the 285's started out with 4 days on the GT500, so I've run them for 5 days at the front of the GT350. The 325's went on the back of the GT350 and stayed there.

The front's look like this:

HC is heat cycles.

The rears look like this:

I measured the tread depth with a gauge and while it's hard to get a solid reading, let's just say the grooves are more than 1/32" and less than 3/32".
