That bolster is a really high wear area when getting in and out. Mine is still fine, but I worry about it because it's really tricky to get in/out without brushing against it.

Let us know what ford says
Most likely Ford will say it's normal 'wear'.

I fully expect this will happen to me unless I find a different way of getting in. Getting out isn't the problem. That part of the seat rubs my bum every time and the leather is soft and sticky opposed to hard and slick like my last car.
This is why I recommend applying some leather conditioner to keep it slippery and flexible.

I'm only 5'8 170.
I thought it was the victim of my fat arse :D
Strangely relieved (yet still ticked off) that normal size ppl are also having the issue ;)

Also has a lot to do with the rearward sloping roof line of the car. Ducking to enter causes said gluteus even more rearward for us tall guys, even with the seat set at back as far as it will go. Just need to be aware and do your best to clear the seat bolster.

Mine has 2,000 miles, and it's already starting to show some wear. That area of the seat doesn't feel like leather. If it is, it came from a polyurethane cow. I try not to rub against the bolster, but I'm tall, so it's difficult.

This subject came up before. It is hard not to rub that side bolster if you "step into" the car. The solution is to "sit down backwards" into the seat, and then pivot straight as you swing your legs into driving position.

Only now, we put a "twisting" rubbing action to the seat cushion!

I pulled an XL T-shirt over each of my Premier Trim seats. Kind of defeats the purpose of the nice leather, but it helps to preserve them. Looks kind of sporty. I just threw both shirts in the washer recently.

Next, I need to Franken-shirt one for the lower cushion.
Requires cutting and sewing elastic band into it. (Sigh) Another project.

So I had the dealer look at this issue with my seat wearing like what you see in the OP. The Dealer too digital photos of the issue and sent that information to Ford. They got the response back from Ford today and they have agreed to replace the seat. Ford is sending a new drivers seat and should be here in a few days. My question though is when I bought the car I was looking for "Leather" seats. Its says leather seats on the windows sticker. Am I to understand that these are not completely leather seats. They are both vinyl and leather? The only part that is leather is the part you butt sits on and your back rests on? The rest is vinyl? Can the Ford Rep answer this question?

If you look at their brochures it says "leather-trimmed seating".

My 2 weeks (less than 500 miles) old 5.0 is showing the same thing, I wonder if I can do the same. I see you are in Virginia, what dealership did you take your car to?

I took it to the Sheehy Ashland Dealership... They had to take digital pictures and send them to Ford first and waited for their OK. Ford agreed and is sending me a new seat...

So what is the rest of the seat made of? Does anyone know? I was able to get Ford to replace my seat but what if this happens to the new one?

You know l tried the sit and pivot method but with my long legs it's still easier to make a conscious effort clear the bolster when dropping into the seat. The biggest issue for me is retraining myself and remembering to do it as my prior sedan didn't require this additional effort on entry.

My seat hasn't shown any signs of wear yet but l'll keep your T-shirt option in mind, or maybe until more seat cover options become availble.:D

Even though I back into the seat with a semi-sitting posture, I think I still rub the bolster very lightly. But the T-shirt is preventing any wear to it.

The main reason I want to also cover the cushion is to prevent long term dirt build. Should also prevent long term wear, too.
