So I'm curious as to whether it's just me, or if this is just how it is with these seats. I have the premier trim leather seats and I've only had the car for around three weeks or so. The leather on both seats is incredibly loose, which I hear is common so I won't complain, but the leather itself, specifically right where the seats "lines" cut across horizontal, are very worn. They have that crack/deteriorating away look as if its crumbling.

Is this with anyone else? I'm debating whether I should go to the dealer and have them replace them, but not sure if it's just how they are.

Thanks.

Loose is normal; cracks not so much.

Wrinkles/loose are normal unfortunately, cracks are not. Go to your dealer and they will warranty it.

I had the possibly the same problem of my drivers side seat wearing abnormally. Along the stitching the leather seemed to be coming up/fading. I brought it to the dealer and they sent pictures to ford. The seat was replaces however the dealer did a poor job of placing the new lower seat cover on. He also neglected to properly instal the seat vents for heating and cooling. When you bring it in be sure to check that before leaving the dealer. They were able to fix both items but it took three trips to the dealer.

Good luck on getting a dealer to warranty leather seating... my 07 Fusion SEL had cracks/fading on the front seats at 20,000 and 3 dealers denied it.... I cleaned them with lexol cleaner and conditioned them once a month since new... and my back seats still look brand new after 110,000...go figure:doh:

My Katskins show no wear whatsoever and they were cheaper than the Ford original leather that I couldn't order because I wanted the Cyclone engine. At first I was mad that I couldn't get leather with the Cyclone engine, but my being forced to order the Katskins was been a real stroke of luck. No other Pony vert has a Purple & Gold custom leather interior. And no wear whatsoever.

I noticed that when getting into the drivers seat you are forced to rub your lower back on the side of the seat. On day 2 I noticed the wear on the leather. To preserve it, I use the memory 3 setting to push the seat back all the way for easier access. The rest of the leather and stitching looks good.

Put some leather protectant on the bolsters so the leather slide easier.
