Thats why i refuse to buy a car with leather seats unless its a bmw lexus etc this cheap leather is hard and starts cracking and wrinkling real quick
well, the real leather is on the actual seats, not the side of the seats where the strap is. I assure you that the leather on the seats themselves is soft and smells great.

Just discovered the issue. When my oil needs to be changed which is fairly soon I will definitely discuss with the dealer.

From the first time I sat in my car I didn't like this system. An abrasive seat-belt on soft leather is a loosing combination. I have been toying with a solution. Maybe Ill model it up this weekend and see if I can buy the 3d printer guy at work a beer to get it printed.

Maybe you can buy one of those wooly wrap around shoulder strap cushion thingies. Put it inside the Mustang strap. (Has to be the kind with velcro down the middle since you can't take the seatbelt off its mount.)

I took my car in for that issues and the leather piece was replaced under warranty . There was no questions asked, it just took about 4 days to get the new leather piece in.

This photo is of my GT's passenger seat. There's light reflecting off a small piece of black plastic that's sewn into the seam. It has kept the straps from cutting into the threads on both of my seats. Maybe this is a fix that Ford put in after Job 1? Or maybe this plastic piece is only on the 50th Anniversary package seats. My build date in 11/20/14.

Crap. I just checked and although it is not like OP's the first stitch on mine already looks pretty stretched. :(

I'm trying to understand what leather piece you're referring to .

I just looked at my seats ... the passenger side is showing a slight sign that the first stitch is stressed out. My car was built 12/12/14, but I don't see that black plastic piece inside the slot where the loop comes out of. Looks more like a foam material instead of plastic. Time to stop using the loops.
