I just drove my car up to Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA from Atlanta, GA. It was a 1600 mile round trip from Wednesday-Sunday.

I chatted with the guys at Koni and gave them my feedback on their new struts/shock setup. Nice guys to chat with.

The car rode perfect the entire trip. I have mine set 1.25 turns off the firmest setting and paired with the Steeda ultralite linears for reference. The ride is really perfect at this setting. For those on the fence, get these Koni's. They are worlds beyond the GTPP shocks and struts.

Todd15Fastback 1.25 turns off the firmest is 0.75 off the softest right. In other words approximately 37% stiffness. Is that all around? I believe they are 720' adjustability.

For anyone doing the Koni rears, I found that you can still use the factory dust cover by drilling a small hole in the top of it. And it still allows you to make adjustments with the tool.
Looks good Sithel, what size drill bit did you use?

I really need to put mine on. Your car looked great. Glad to hear it rides the same too

Had my Koni's installed today along with Steeda Sport Springs, sway bars and IRS components. Set them to 1 full turn up front and 1/2 in back. So far the ride is good. Took a drive over a bumpy road 10 miles higher than normal without any jarring. The back feels a little soft so I may set them to 1 full turn tomorrow. Roads are wet so I couldn't test the handling.

So my suspension is completed. I didnt have too much trouble on the spindle bolts. One bolt came out with just a deadblow hammer. The others I tried a basic claw hammer and they eventually came out. A 4# sledge wouldve knocked them out easy. I had purchased 4 new spindle bolts just in case but I didnt need them. Fronts took me about 3.5 hours taking our time. Second front was much faster than the first time. I could redo them in under 2 hours i bet. The rears were even simplier, did both rears in under 1.5 hours. Even dropping one side of the cradle and reinstalling, the subframe bolts went in without issue even with the CB005 cradle lockout. I measured my ride height before and after installation. The fronts were on expected values from BMR SP089 minimum drops of .8". The rears went a tad lower .75" than expected .5".

for track work I wonder what a good stiffness setting would be. I would think you want a softer rear compared the front for weight transfer during acceleration.

I set the rears to 1 full and went for a drive on the freeway. The ride was stiff and some of the wavy sections were harsh. Got back home and set it to 3/4 turns then went on a couple of bad roads for comparison with 1/2 full from yesterday. Hit a railroad track and expected it to be jarring. Wasn't. I'll keep it this way for a while. I think if someone wants a comfortable ride for a daily driver than 1/2 full may be it. I may set it back to 1/2 for my daily driving and then experiment with 1+ full for the track.

I believe they have 2.5 turns of adjustment so 1.25 would be 50%

Hey Digital_Synapse They have 2.5 turns of adjustment on the Koni's. This is why I went 1.25 turns at it puts me right in the middle between the softest and firmest setting.

Yes, I did 1.25 turns on each corner so everything is equal.
