The BMR performance springs are definitely too soft for Konis, I've heard that even the handling springs are "just enough" for them. Seems like Koni's should work well with the upcoming Steeda super stiff min drop springs.
Thank so much Rebellion. I think my problem was 2 fold- the bumpstops being tore up and the SP080s being too soft for those Koni dampers. I still have the Konis in my garage. Contemplating selling them but not sure if I will switch back at some point. If I do, it will be a stiffer spring and Steeda adj bumpstops. Not enough people think about the bump stops and they just disregard it. Don't disregard them, it plays an important part. The S550 uses them quite frequently and might even be factored into the spring rate of many manufacturer's specs.

I think, and I'm almost sure, that the spring rates required to make the koni's to acceptable damping would be quite high (at BMR handling or higher rates). I have the BMR handling rears and honestly, I wouldn't want anything stiffer for street use, in fact something slightly softer should be better IMO (high 800 or low 900lbs).

I had my concerns with bumpstops and didn't want to go through the trouble of calculating the right height and stuff...thankfully the FR track dampers have all of that taken into account, saves a lot of troubles for lazy and OCD folks like me.

Steeda Ultralites were tested on Koni Yellows and are a great match, ask Todd15Fastback. They have a relatively soft front spring and stiff rear spring.

The BMR handling springs are, in my personal opinion, perfectly matched with the Koni's -- and from what I've read about the Steeda Ultalites, they're also a really good match. Basically any higher spring rated linears pair really well with the Konis. Still fiddling with the right settings for when the girlfriend wants to take the Mustang instead of her Cooper S.

All the complaints I've read on the Koni, they were "too harsh" due to progressive springs or improperly trimmed bumpstops. Speaking of bumpstops, are Steeda's adjustable ones really that worth it? I feel like my trimmed ones are alright, there's minor "bunny hops" on bumpier parts of the highway.

I think so. It's mainly the rear, I haven't even touched the front and not sure I need to. When you trim the rear factory bump stops you get down to that plastic part plus the Steeda adjustables are lower even than the trimmed factory. It was a very pleasant difference for me.

For $60, I think it might be worth the try. It's a 2 piece design right, and you just use the lower height version of the 2, correct? Still haven't did much research on it.

Just curious of everyone who runs the Koni Yellows, what do you have them set at? Do you wish you would've gone with or already replaced the Koni's with the Steeda fixed or their new adjustable dampners?

I'm running BMR handing springs, and have my Koni's set at a 1/2 turn from full stiff in the rear and about 1 3/4 turn in the front, ride quality is perfect for my personal preference.
I am at 1.25 turns from full soft on the front and 0.5 turns from full soft on the rears with my BMR Springs (089/082). I had the rears on full soft for a few months and it was fine but a little stiffer seems better.

That's correct. I didn't pay much attention to it at first but thanks to the great support we have here from Steeda, I asked them about it. After talking it through decided it was definitely worth the money to give it a try. To be honest, I still wasn't 100% convinced it was going to make a difference but was very happy when they did!

The drop on the handling spring front is very aggressive 1.6-1.7. You can never have a quality/controlled ride with those springs.

I replaced mine with pro kit and Koni and it rides awsome!
