I just did the E85 switch as well with the Sai Li dual pump system. Also Kum & Go is also all over Iowa...that is my E85 source. I'm tuning with Lund and on my last revision I was seeing 22-23 total timing with a -4.998 knock value...so it was adding as well....pulls like a raped ape...Ethanol content was 80-85%.

Is this a FF tune? or a strict E85 tune. As in, must run E85?

You are using E70 and not E85 so the timing can't be as aggressive. You should still be running 20+ of timing without knock.

Right, I was seeing 18-19* on 93 oct with -2 knock. Now I'm seeing (+) knock at 19.5*

Hoping I just got a bad batch of gas

Cant do FF on FI
Don't confused a tuners refusal to run flex fuel with boost as an absolute. You can run it, just most tuners won't. You could use the octane adjustments to compensate for the added octane from e85 compared to 93...Long story short, it can be done, most choose not too though. Requires a really good MAF curve and properly populated torque/inverse tables(for ethanol % multiplier to work properly). It's easier on copperheads since they have alcohol % based multiplier/modifier tables where you can set the amount of timing you actually want to add.

I've been getting 29.5 degrees max timing on E85 with my Lund FF tune. My logs are showing a min of -10 knock and a max of 0 knock. I've seen 30 degrees of timing on my 93 octane tunes.

I'm a novice and don't know much about logging engine parameters but seems the OP's timing is very conservative for E85 and the engine to be pulling timing. Something doesn't seem right.

You need a FF tune. Most of the stations near me range from E60-E72 now. It's really hard to find true E85.
FF auto adjusting tune is not a good idea with boost. N/A is fine, but boosted is a HUGE difference in timing between pump and E85. If you don't give the computer time to adjust if you go from E85 to pump and go WOT, bye bye.

OP, fwiw I'm running a tune for a pump/e85 mix of E50, and seeing 21.5-22.5 degrees of timing on 10ish lbs of boost.

OP has forced induction. Overall timing will be lower vs. you being NA.;)

Seems like he got crap E-85. Timing advance seemed pretty conservative to knock on E-85.
19.5+ 8= 27.5

Even with e85, with FI that doesn't seem to conservative to me. N/a timing values for FI application.

Remember once knock starts you need to remove more timing to stop it. So I don't think his final timing will be 18.5-19.5 but in the low 20s is doing pretty good. Prochargers get 21-22 with good 93. I imagine with a vmp and e85 he will be right above that.

I didn't realize it was trying to add 8*. 27.5 is too much for FI on E-85 for sure 22-23* max normally but less if high boost.
