I dunno, maybe lojack is worth it? What's the reputation of that?
Dealer I"m getting my 2016 from says they put them in all cars. I've had it in 2 cars and always slept well.

Here is the company latest report with stats on Cities and Cars stolen in 2014

The fob (key) utilizes a battery and it does talk to the car as shown below.

If the battery dies in the fob than the physical key is required to gain entry into the car. The slot under the cup holder has an emitter to ping the RFID with enough power to enable it to be seen and start the car.

If the battery is removed from the fob none of these hacks work. Likewise a small switch worked into the fob for disabling the battery would work as well.

That along the lines of what I was expecting. When the fob doesn't have power it has to be within range of the antenna under the cup holder mat, usually in the slot down there, correct?

I don't think that even the relay style methods can catch the very weak LF without being right next to it. At the very least, a power cutoff would keep your door locked.

I stand corrected!

Turn off keyless entry?
I have tried to look that up in (an online copy of) the manual, but what (combination of) option(s) would exactly achieve this?

Vehicle > Locks >
Autounlock (Yes/No)
Mislock (Yes/No)
Relock (Yes/No)
Remote Unlock (All Doors/Driver First)
Switch Inhibit (Yes/No)

I am missing the "Relock" menu item.
Seems that at one point I did have the relock feature enabled.
I do have the enhanced security package.
Any ideas?
Eddie

I bought two $7 RFID signal blocker pouches from Amazon. I can stand right beside the car and it won't unlock. The pouch is small enough to fit in my pocket.

Eddie, I don't see it on mine either.

From the owner's manual (which isn't always correct BTW), as it does show "Relock - check enabled or uncheck disabled" in the Information Display menu.

Auto Relock
If you press the unlock button on the
remote control and do not open a door
within 45 seconds, your vehicle locks and
arms your alarm. You can enable or disable
this feature in the information display. See
General Information (page 83).

Maybe it is really not selectable, and does the Auto Relock anyway? Time to do a little test.
