Amusing / annoying update to the custom embroidered "Mach 1" headrest saga...

When I finally got out the door he hollered stop by sometime for a cup of coffee or a beer, people come here all the time just to talk and tell stories. Uh.... no.

Hope I don't hate them when they're installed. Starting to regret even going down this road.
Outrageous, hillarilious, and terrible! Thanks for a great story, I'm gonna share with my friends! Can't wait to hear the outcome!

Got in the car to leave and Bob calls to say he found the other cover, it was on his desk chair! So drive the 30 minutes all the way back to pick it up and can't get out because he's a talker.
Take it from the bright side - how else could you meet Bob?
Also want to note that although supposedly I have Katzkins with the special foam for cooled seats, the cooling function is virtually useless. I feel absolutely nothing on my back, and barely anything on my butt, even at full power. They weren't great before with the stock covers but seem to be even worse for cooling now.
I am not sure you are supposed to feel anything on your back. I never felt anything on mine. The butt on the other hand gets cooled fine. I just tested it over the weekend, even the lowest setting is noticeable. But my dad who sit in a passenger seat did not feel anything. So I guess it also depends on the particular butt (or my passenger seat cooling does not work :)).

The only nuisance is the noise, you can clearly hear it even on the lowest setting.

Maybe it's just a crappy design but when I installed the Katzkins, you could see there were cooling fans in both the seat and the back. I did always notice the back was much less effective though for some reason.

Considering these for my Bronco. How does it work? You can customize them? They will set you up with an install shop?

Make life simple for yourself. Read all about them here. Also if this thread can teach us anything it’s sometime easier and possibly cheaper to just let the pros do the install.

Indeed, I have the same impression. The back cooling works but is much less noticable, and you don't keep it running for long enough to be chilly because your balls would be frozen by then. But as a whole it definitely cools the hot leather down fine.

I mostly don't leave the car in sun so people with every day experience in hotter states may think of it as inadequate.

Got mine installed last week. Very easy process and look great. Pleasantly surprised that also come with the door panel inserts. Was not expecting that. Now I just need the shifter boot ant it’ll all match. For a touch over $2000 I think it was well worth the money. I went with black with graphite inserts perforated and perforated wings, all with salsa stitching. My only regret is I wish I had told them to cut off the lame ford seatbelt holder at your shoulder and to not include a slit in the seat back cover for it.

Done. 6 days and $74 to finish the headrests, after waiting 7 weeks for the first guy to do nothing but lose one LOL. Reupholstery project complete.
