This cutting your own holes business has slowed the installation to a crawl. When you have to line up and measure from seams on flexible material it’s almost impossible to get accurate cut locations.

Got the seat belt button installed, the loop made by the strap is bigger than I’d like but it should still serve the purpose.

The headrest is giving me fits. Tried making an X instead of a hole but the foam under the leather is too thick so had to hack it out with a thin hobby knife. Then I didn’t recognize that the two plastic posts are NOT identical and of course put them into the opposite holes. Now I can’t get one out because it’s wedged in and I don’t want to have to take the new cover off to get at it. Good chance it will break coming out and I’ll have to try and order a new one.

Making steady progress…

Drivers seat back complete. Cutting for the rear release handle was a little unnerving but I traced the outline of the hole in the stock cover and cut out a template, then transferred it to the new cover.

yeah pisses me off, that's what happens when the holes for the button aren't pre-punched and you have to try and measure from seams and cut the hole locations yourself.

Seriously? Did they send you a factory second? Curious why you didn’t have a local shop install them since it’s included in the price of the covers?

So after lots of discussion with Katzkin and the seller, apparently they don't cut the holes in the covers (see my earlier posts). I got the whole set for $1041 delivered so no pro install was included.

My car is not a mach1, but I’m pretty sure the seats are the same. My loops from the factory looks just like these pictures. For what that’s worth.

Seriously, this looks great. Factory finish but unique. Couple questions...

If you had to do it again, or if you do it again, will you do it yourself again? You expressed some frustrations, but it looks great.

Secondly, is the fit and finish in person similar to OEM? Better, worse?

Nice shifter ball BTW. Your car is awesome.

First, thank you so much, I appreciate it!

Raceseng Slammer shift knob in translucent red. Pricey but seems to be good quality.

I would absolutely do it again with the Katzkins. It’s not easy but knowing the tricks now I’d do it myself to save install costs. It appears that maybe the Katzkins have more areas that are real leather. Quality seems good but the construction is different from the factory seats, particularly the foam for the cooling function which Katzkin charges extra for but assures me works fine. I would say the hardest part is getting everything lined up straight as you are stretching the covers over the foam, particularly around the front seat airbags and at any area where Velcro holds the covers down into seams.
