Good catch with the scammer. Just so you know, you can take any owners supplemental for your model year and make it unique to your vehicle for $65. It won't be "yours" but the 2 unique items are replaceable through Ford and Shelby.

Glad you found him! The previous owner of my car found me on there, and when I asked if he was interested in selling his Owners Supplement, ghosted me. Oh well.

That forum reminds me of every Corvette owner ever. LOL

UPDATE - SCAMMER! I was looking for my owners supplement kit and he photoshopped previous photos of certificates. Beware.

So what platform was this scammer on -eBay, Craigslist, FB marketplace… ??

You should say where he was and put his contact info here so others can avoid him or report him.

Some don’t give up the Owner’s kit when they sell or trade in because they either keep it as a memento OR they’ll turn around and flip it on eBay for $300-$400…. They don’t care …. The real Enthusiast will be willing to pass it down without cost or greed.

And what others are warning you about as far as the person who says they have the real kit and found you in here - Scammers are all over. They feed on “wants” and speciality vehicle forums and will try to lure others into believing they have what you are seeking; then before you know it, you are out $$$ and the scammer is long gone, doing it to the next unsuspecting person.

I think you said you already verified the prior owner via an old Ins. card, that’s good but if the verification was done online by him reaching out to you first, I would ask for further identification or have him answer specific questions about the car just to verify 100% it was him who was the prior owner. That’s just me, and because there’s been far too many online forum scams over the years, including some happening on this site.

I posed on the GT350 forum which wasn’t this one and he reached out to me. The first guy had a different one K1868 but then he said his friend had k1993. It ended up being a lie. No money lost tho. Just time with screwing around. I knew it was fake an hour into doing it.
