Been throwing codes and getting wrench light for past week and half on my ‘18 GT PP1. Only ~900 miles on the car. Felt loss of power and some stuttering every once in a while, especially under full throttle load in a high gear. Took it in and they thought the filter might have a bad seal. Put a stock filter back in and runs perfect now. Chances it was just a bad filter? FRP sells it as a power pack 1 with the same filter and a tune for the 15-17. Never thought a simple drop in filter would cause issues.

I've run oiled filters since I was a wee lad and have never had a problem. Had a K&N drop in on my car without issue until I went with JLT. K&N says that their product will not foul your MAF sensor. Have you talked to them about this?

You either over oiled the filter, oiled the wrong side of the filter, did not wait for it to be DRY before installing (usually takes 72+ hours), or a combination of..

With only 900 miles on the car I doubt the OP was cleaning nor re-oiling his K&N filter. Strange. I’m sticking to factory paper filter.

Never know.. maybe it was decided the filter needed a little extra oil out of the box? Maybe it was taken right out of the box and installed (rather than allowing it to dry as the instructions suggest)?

Ive put hundreds of thousands of miles on oiled filters, never had a hiccup.

Never applied oil. Bought it from AutoZone and dropped it in new out of the box. Foreman said the rubber on the sides can sometimes flex and messes wit the pressure. He also cleaned the MAF thoroughly w/BG MAF cleaner. Car is literally running perfect since putting the OEM filter in. Thought about getting a dry unit but think I’ll just wait until the Power Packs get released from FRP for the 18+ to do any CAI mods.
