Hi everyone again!
What do you think about K&N replacement air filter possibility to actually filter air.
I live in Dubai and dust storms as well as dust suspension in the air (small sand pieces) is very common.
I read some var reviews on KN capabilities to filter dust. Therefore seeking your advise.

P.S.: will throttle body spacer be a real waste go money for whistling noise?))

I'm sure Dubai weather is pretty much the same as Doha...So I would not recommend any oil based filter or even any other high flow filter. Stick with the OEM paper filter, unless you only take it out occasionally, then I would only go with an actual intake replacement. KN filter replacement just isn't worth it IMO. I've had them installed in two vehicles of mine with not noticeable benefits. Only real benefit I liked was them being reusable. It's really the main reason I got one for the truck as I destroyed the OEM one with mud lol.

But as I said, if it is a DD and you are driving it every day then stick with a paper filter.

Oh yea and don't forget to change your oil frequently. If I were you I'd change it at 3k miles and do a UOA and see if you can go longer. You probably can but a sandy desert climate I just wouldn't risk it...one short oil change is certainly worth it to see how the climate effects the oil.

Thank you, Divine! And what is UOA?)
So, should I ignore the recommended 10 000 km maintenance frequency and ask for oil change at just 5 000?

Used oil analysis. And page 418 in the manual (at least the US manual) has Fords "Scheduled Maintenance" recommendations. It doesn't mention desert or sandy climates but it does have high heat. Which Ford recommends anywhere from 4,800km to 12,000km. Given how hot it gets there and how sandy it is, I wouldn't recommend pushing it that far past Top end of Fords extreme recommendation which is about 8000km. During the fall winter and spring when it's not so hot (like below 35 Deg Celsius) ya might be able to push it out some.

The Used oil analysis will tell you how long you can go before changing your oil. I would start with the shorter interval if I were you.
