From what I understand the Ford Racing tune has been released in Australia but is being held up in the states because California hasn't approved it yet for emissions.

Terry
California may never approve it. How many items out there are 49 state approved? I hope they release one for the GT whether or not California wants to play or not.

I have an ecoboost with automatic transmission and at the moment no performance mods, will be mostly street driven though at times in a spirited fashion lol.

I was considering doing a intercooler and performance tune (waiting on ford racing), to be honest though not really looking for more huge hp and torque just better throttle response at times.

While Pedalmax give my car (given the info above) what I am looking for?

Thanks
Terry:)
it will not give you more HP or torque but it'll help eliminate throttle lag which in itself feels like it's faster.

I installed pedalmax this morning and took it for a test drive, it seemed to make a difference, the car seems like it has a little more pep from the get go.

I am noticing though that at idle.. stock was about 1100rpm, now it is like 1600rpm, it seems like the car is partially in sport mode almost.

Not really liking this halfway sport mode, I prefer either regular drive mode or sport mode but not something in between. I am going to knock the pedalmax down to 60% and see if anything changes and report back.

Did you unplug the negative battery terminal?

That's a very high idle...

That's definitely not normal... My pedalmax didn't change the idle one bit and I run it at 100% every day.

I'd agree with this statement. my idle remains the same.

maybe you had your foot lightly depressing the pedal??? :headbonk:

Yes negative battery lead was disconnected during pedalmax install.

Not sure if theredmeadow is serious or not, could that have been an issue, if the battery negative was unplugged and the throttle sensor was unplugged to install pedalmax don't think depressing the pedal would matter.

When I say it's at 1,600 rpm idle, what I should of said is that during driving the lowest rpm is 1,600.. I thought before it was lower than that, idle rpm sitting still is fine.

Then again I have been feeling like crap for a few weeks and working in a very humid garage might have scrambled my brains, lol.

Ahh, I see now. So with the sensitivity high, you can't press the pedal without it reving to a minimum of 1,600.

Interesting... Do you have an auto?
Maybe it's doing odd things with that pesky torque converter.

Yes, I have an automatic, I will test again tomorrow without pedalmax and make an exact note of rpm's under normal driving conditions then compare to pedalmax.

The car is running at a higher rpm , it's bugging that heck out of me, not sure this is doable for me.

When you first start the car in the morning, its totally normal for the idle rpm to go little high but below 2000 rpm. Especially if it was little cool in the morning. After a while it should go back down to normal. Maybe thats what was happening.

Does switching the car to sport or track mode do the same thing that the pedalmax does with the throttle response?

Who says it isn't worth it?
The majority from what I've read says it is.
To me the tune alone isn't worth throwing your warranty out the window for 20 rwh and a few 10ths quicker. My 12 and 14 GT's were both tuned and both times I regretted it.
Why did you regret it? Just curious...
