I tried to order the JLT CAI/X4 Tuner combo, but the JLT CAI is out of stock at americanmuscle. Therefore, I only ordered the X4 Tuner and will get the JLT CAI when triple yellow is available. When will the JLT triple yellow be available for GT and who can I get it from? As far as the JLT/X4 combo, since I purchased the X4 outside of the combo, how do I still get the JLT-specific tune for my GT premium? Does the tune apply to all 4 driving modes, or only sport/track mode?

+1...also interested in TY intake, if the price adder isn't too bad. What's the retail price difference for the painted version?

I'm not sure how to answer your questions as you ordered from American Muscle, so many of them should be directed toward them.

As for color matched JLT intakes I can tell you the process is very different and they just shipped to the plant that gives them a treatment to attract the paint. That's about 2-3 weeks and we get them back and start painting.
A/M doesn't sell color matched JLT's so that would be ordered directly from us. Keep an eye on our web site or Facebook page for updates on when they will be ready to order.

Any tune questions for your purchase, I'd call Bama.

It's a $50 upgrade for paint.

Thanks

Got my TY painted JLT intake today! Thanks guys!

A few things to note:

1) Your instructions don't include the 7mm tool needed to take off the factory clamps

2) Your instructions don't mention the Caplug to use when removing the sound tube from the firewall, or the instructions on how to remove it (it's a 10mm bolt that's a PITA to get to...lol) But a nice surprise that you guys included that plug...very cool!

3) Just to note for others...that Caplug is a very tight fit, and I couldn't do it by hand. I had to push it on with a screwdriver, but stupid me used s flat head so it punctured it slightly but did get it on! Lol...just put a dap of electrical tape on it for now.

4) I wasn't super thrilled with the way the MAF seals. The tabs on the MAF are offset some, so it was difficult to tell if it was tightened all the way or not since it leaves a gap where the tab meets the tube. This may be compounded by having it painted. You guys may consider having that area more masked off during paint process.

5) There were a few imperfections in the paint, but mostly it won't be visible. There was a little running around the flange that connects the filter.

6) ok lastly I just want to note for others that at first the filter does sit very close to the fender panel that sticks out, but adjusting at the TB clamps you can push it down while tightening the clamps to increase the clearance.

1) I'll update the instructions to note the tool size needed for the Throttle body clamps, , but this can also be done with a screw driver.

2) This was something that wasn't included in the original packing list, going to put something else in the instructions about what it's for. I will say the majority of folks aren't going all the way to the firewall to delete the tube as it's a major pain to do. Most seem to be removing the tube near the strut bar attachment.

3) Tight fit yes, it's a press fit for a firewall hole. It'd be much easier if you could get to it better.

4) The MAF seals on a rubber O-ring (well rectangle ring). Pretty much upon tightening the screws if you can no longer wiggle the MAF in the hole it's tight. We machined the hole in the tube just large enough for the slot, so it gets a positive seal all the way around.

5) Something like this I prefer to handle off the forum.

6) Round tube, Round couplers that are long. There's room for adjustment as you found it. Typically we install recommend getting everything situated where you want it before tightening it all down. No different then anything else that has multiple connections for install.

By the way here's the video for the install if anyone is curious.

Thanks Vinny! I wasn't trying to bash your product at all, just giving feedback for product improvements, most notably to the instructions :) I'm an engineer with OCD so sorry if it came across as criticism! Your product is very nice...I have a Steeda intake on my Fusion and there were some minor issues with that as well...I think you guys are very well up to par...thanks again!

I know mine was one of the first of the painted tubes, and those come from another supplier of yours, so figured you'd want to know about it from a QC point of view.

This may sound like a dumb question but do you clean / replace the air filter ? Im assuming its a maintenance thing every 15k or something

Also do you have pictures of the painted intakes looking for DIB but kinda hesitant

If you end up going with an oiled filter, you can simply clean it. We offer the S&B cleaning kit on our website. http://jlttruecoldair.com/ZenCart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=481

If you go with the dry filter option, you simply replace the filter.

As for pictures of the DIB, not on a 2015 because we actually haven't had one come through yet.

Here's one on a 11-14 GT

Here's the most recent picture we received back from a customer on a 2015 GT

Just put this on my GT. I've never done much work on my car before, changed simple drop-in filters, etc. I thought the install was relatively simple for someone that's never even done it before.

Hardest part for me was definitely fitting the pieces together, but a little bit of work and it slid over the factory. It's raining here, but I took it for a spin and it felt great with a tune, sounds good too.

Thought the customer support was top notch and now I'm itching to do more. I hate that I found this website because seeing what everyone is doing is making me want to do everything to mine.
